just shows how much respect some ppl have for the USA and the constitution and all associated items. Sad that we still have to call them americans. But, we all know that liberals hate the USA and all that freedom stands for. |

Who lied? CIA, DIA, FBI, MI6, the French, Germans, the Canadians, other British Intelligence Services, the Spanish, and many more all believed that Iraq had WMD. Even the UN believed that Iraq may have WMD as they believed he was definately hiding something and would never allow full access. Just prior to the invasion the UN Inspectors were finally show missiles that we prohibited that could reach a range further than they had in 1991.
So, I suppose the 'moron' Bush and cronies duped everyone into the lie? lol come on madisonman, think. |

So, I suppose the 'moron' Bush and cronies duped everyone into the lie? lol come on madisonman, think. Since that time, much more information has come to light through leaks of secret government documents and the accounts of an increasing number of people who have witnessed the administration’s wrongdoing firsthand. There is now in the public record a large body of evidence that vividly illustrates: Bush’s long-standing intent to invade Iraq Bush’s willingness to provoke Saddam (in a variety of ways) into providing a pretext for war The fact that the war effectively began with an air campaign nearly a year before the March 2003 invasion and months before Congressional approval for the use of force The administration’s widespread effort to crush dissent and manipulate information that would counter its justification for war The lack of planning for the war’s aftermath and a fundamental lack of understanding of the Iraqi society From cherry-picked intelligence to a non-existent plan to win the peace; from no-bid contracts for reconstruction to character assassination for anyone who dares to question the premises of the war—the Bush administration has perpetrated what is by any measure one of the most egregious foreign policy misstep in our history. A majority of the American people now believes that the president intentionally misled our nation into war, and nearly half say he should be impeached if that assertion can be proven. The only question that remains is: will he and his administration be held accountable? http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/ |

You completely ignored the fact of all the other intelligence services were saying the exact same thing the US and UK ones were saying. Why is that? Did Bush and Blair trick leaders of all those countries into having their intelligence services lie too?

Actually mad it was Saddam who lied about WMD's to deter Iran from invading. Saddam never thought Bush would invade to destroy WMD's and thought if Bush did attack it would be similar to the first attack of 4 days. You shouldn't rely on stale information but rather try to keep updated with the current and relevant information.

And honestly, the Downing Street Memo is weak. It is simple talks begun in July 2002 to discuss the issue of Iraq and the need to do something instead of allowing a rogue to continue to duck the UN inspectors in a time when terror hit very close to home and Saddam according to ALL intelligence services is hiding WMD and other programs. What, do you think it takes only a month for a government in this day and age to decide to go to war? lol, come on, this is bureaucratics we are talking about. It takes timing and planning.
Oooooh, July 2002, so it took less than a year of war planning. This isn't Dark Ages Afghanistan, this is a much more advanced mission with stuff scattered all over the place from weapons, industrial, and hidden sites. Come on. Now, if you can find in that Memo where it states Bush admin and UK admin say where they know there is no WMD and plan to invade the country for oil then get back to me. Not gonna happen. |

Lie = Knowing that the information you have been provided by your own intelligence services, who worked closely with others, was not true and using it anyways.
You have to prove the one side to get the lie, and you can't. Know the definition of a lie. |

Even Clinton spoke of "WMD's" in Iraq.
I understand you don't like Bush, but be honest. Every administration lies to the people. Talk about figuring out how to make REAL change. 2 term limits, no more prof. politicians. The people REALLY taking comtrol of the country again. My OP. |

I read it, where exactly does it say the Bush administration knew that Saddam had no WMD and decided to go to war anyways? Guess it must be in hidden text only the enlightened ones like you can read. |
