I guess "what the hell up?" is out of the question then....laugh

I usually start off my first date with a passionate "What up mutha****ka?!"

soxfan94, that post that you put was exactly what I was thinking, and trying to express. I guess I did not do it well enough.

I think that only you got the difference in What up, vs What's up. Then the replys, some were...... but it's ok. This is why I wanted opinions on the situation.

Several people caught the distinction.

I really highly doubt that he was trying to put a racial edge on things, but I wouldn't know for sure without talking him...which is my point exactly: you need to talk to him to figure out if there was any reason behind what he said and that way you can tell him that it made you uncomfortable. Then maybe he'll compromise, or maybe he'll say why are you being so crazy. That's communication! drinker

Yeh, I got it. With or without the S..... It's still a question.

Maybe he just wanted to know what's up. I can remember times of coming to and wondering what's up. It could be he was just disoriented. I also thought about the age difference but mutual match shows me these matches that are young enough to be my grandchildren. All I can think now is what's up.laugh

I think what bothers you most is, he's not financially secure.

No, I am financially secure enough for me and my children.... I provide a comfortable life style for my family, that has nothing to do with it.

sigh Maybe he was nervous and when you answered he didn't know what to say - he was trying to be casual ... you read way too much into this ..

The bottom line is, I do not talk that way to someone, and I will not apoligize for that. I just did not expect him to say that to me, and I did not like it, no matter why he said it. I do feel as though now, reflecting back on the issue, that I did over react, that is the reason for the original post, but like I said I cannot change me not talking with him after the fact. But what I can do is call him and just see how he is doing and go from there.

I am vindicated! Everyone always asks why I don't date older women even though I'm mature (hard to believe, based on the JSH forums I know) and I always say because I'm still getting my feet under me and it's intimidating to date someone older who already has all their sh*t together, and I dunno why they'd want to date anyone who isn't up and going with their career yet anyway.

Ok - tangent over.

I think anyone not using proper language and grammer at first light should be strung up and a public flogging should thus ensue. Or maybe a good old fashioned hanging and as the neck snaps on the gibbet we can all look point as say 'what up? that up!' at the swinging corpse. Then its time to finally get even with those fools that have ruined the phrase 'whatever' from a light whatever you fancy darling to a go F**k yourself remark.

I think the poor sonofab*tch will be better off texting "what up" to someone who won't ignore the poor slob for three days. <shaking head>

I think there are some younger guys who have their stuff together and a older woman(Im talking 10 year or more) woundnt mind those types. As long as I see some ambition and maturity on his part...If your still livin at home with mom, workin a minmum wage job, no car....Im NOT interested....Thats just me:tongue:
