I'm so proud of my daughter. She just told me she is signing up for a 5K marathon, which I thought was pretty impressive. Then I find out it is the San Diego GLBT 27th Annual 'Run and Stride with Pride'

http://www.frwsd.org/pride.html

I had always just hoped my children would accept me and the partner i chose, but it goes above and beyond when she is actually doing something in the community to support me.
Another WOW from my awesome daughter.  flowerforyou bigsmile sad

The Dangers of Auto-Replace

In addition to blocking traffic from websites they don’t like, it looks like the web-geniuses behind the American Family Association’s OneNewsNow site have a few other tricks up their sleeves, such as automatically replacing any use of the word “gay” with the word “homosexual” in any of the AP stories they run … leading to instances in which proper names are reformatted to meet their ridiculous standard, such as this article about sprinter Tyson Gay winning the 100 meters at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in which he is renamed “Tyson Homosexual”

Q: How many femmes does it take to change a tire?

A: Two: one to call AAA and one to whine about the grease on her skirt.

National Trans Beauty Pageant trailer smile2

Gender Blender is from the creators of Taxicab Confessions. It follows three transgender beauty pageant participants in Queen USA and Queen of the Universe contests, and focuses on their lives and relationships — and includes perspectives from the deeply caring straight men who love them. The women are simply incredible personal displays of feminine strength.

Ellen DeGeneres Sticks Up For Her Right To Marry
Presidential hopeful John McCain paid a visit to The Ellen DeGeneres Show (widely considered a cushy place to joke around and have fun on national TV) this week in order to court her faithful audience lookin' for votes come November and managed to get "ambushed" by Ellen, who dared to press the Senator on actual issues dealing with the 2008 presidential campaign. McCain prolly showed up at Ellen's doorstep thinking he'd be getting some free publicity in a fluffy puff piece but Ellen decided to bring up the issue of same-sex marriage, forcing the presidential candidate to make clear his position on the matter:

"The Senate has rejected the gay marriage ban. When you think about it, do you really want Congress defining marriage? That's like asking Charlie Sheen to define monogamy." --Jay Leno

As I said:

I'm gay and I totally support straight pride!!! Will you start throwing awesome parades and celebrations too? Any reason for a good party (and respect for one another) and I'm game.

Katie Reider - 1978 - 2008

On June 27, 2008, just before leaving for vacation, Katie received word that the MRI she had revealed FURTHER SHRINKAGE of the tumor....in fact so much that the tumor appears to be 95-97% GONE.

While they thought they had progress with the major shrinkage of Katie's tumor, there have been some major complications. While on vacation in Bethany Beach, Delaware over the 4th of July Holiday, Katie had some bleeding from her mouth. Apparently the tumor shrunk so much, that it partly dislodged causing Katie to severely hemorrhage from a major artery in her brain.

After being taken to a local hospital to get the bleeding under control, Katie was sedated and put into a medically induced paralysis. She was then airlifted to a more-well equipped hospital in Wilmington Delaware where she underwent 3 hours of surgery to stop the potentially fatal bleeding all together. From this point Katie had to be transported her back to her doctors in New York City as soon as possible.

Here is a detailed account of information sent in from Katie's family about Katie's experience.
