my brother was a sherrif. he was one of the few good guys. i know for a
fact that if he was one of the a**holes, my sister-in-law would have
kicked his a**. he quit the force after 16 yrs.

i heard about both stories and the one in new york sounds crooked as
hell but the one in atlanta sounds like any other warrant being served.
i'm not sayin that her death is justified because it isn't even close
but the police that serve warrants don't always identify them selves and
sometimes they don't identify themselves properly because they want to
get in and secure everyone before they destroy evidence or escape. mrs.
johnstons story should never have ended like that and i think it had to
do with being overzealous in their pursuit. i think they may have had
the wrong address and then said that someone in her home sold to them,
no one will ever know though because most things get covered up when the
government or cops make a mistake.

when a no knock warrant is issued, the police dont have to announce
themselves.

my sister is an NYPD officer, and she is not a bad cop, some are, and
abuse their power, but we also have good cops
we have to try and weed out the bad ones, because when we have a
problem, who do we call?, the cops, the first thing that comes to mind
is 911, for help.

there are some good cops but most of the ones i have run into are pretty
sorry. with the way their job is you think a bad cop just makes it
tougher on his fellow officers, makes you appreciate it when you meet a
good one though. alot of them don't start out that way but some of them
do.

i don't know if a no knock waS issued for this situation though. they
quoted a cop in the story i read as saying that they did identify
themselves and some witnesses said they couldn't tell but i was not
there so i don't know

the bad part of this whole thing is when a cop goes bad, he is placed on
administrative leave, that means vacation with pay. during this time the
department is trying to think of a way to cover up the whole mess, so
the truth never gets out.

the real bad part is where when a citizen has been wronged by a cop ther
is no due process available to the citizen.

Hey, to say "all" cops are corrupt is just ignorant. Solow, black
people commit crimes, does that mean "all" black people are criminals?
Ya'll that responded to this, with your negative feelings about crooked
cops are being very narrow minded. There are bad people in every
population, whether it be a race or a field, etc, but to generalize
everyone in law enforcement based on your own personal experience or
some act a "person" did, is just plain IGNORANT!!

Chuckee. He did say earlier that he never said all cops are bad. But the
ones that are paint the others with same brush because we only hear
about them.
My parents were traveling through Vermont and got a flat. My dad called
state troopers for assistance cause at his age he can't change tire. He
expected to have a tow truck arrive but a trooper came, changed the tire
and escorted them to nearest garage. My father took his name and badge
number to write a letter to his superiors about his exemplary service to
the public.

I have ZERO tolerance for the bs that goes on when I see it. I have no
respect for the crap thats pulled either, but to continue to hear how
"all" of us are crooked, just sucks. There are those of us busting our
ASSES, and we still catch hell like this.

Bad Boys, Bad Boys.....'are they talking about GANGS again...Oh
my....can you imagine anyone needing to have someone take your
back?....Is it because the cops are all about a Paycheck and not about
fixing the problem....?.....Hummmm...Oh yes...Doesn't the Police force
fit the Profile as a GANG....Yes!!....and they act like it to...B.S...on
the excuses....Put them in jail like they would anyone else who did what
they did!

Chuckee I work as a security officer. I know how police officers get a
bum deal. I'm on your side. But people only hear about the few. That's
why I put my parents experience there to show the other side.

When I was younger I hitched across Canada because I could. About 70
miles east of Sudbury I got stopped by O.P.P.(Ontario Provincial
Police). Gave me a ride, siren going to get there faster, to Sudbury in
time for early morning pancake breakfast.

During the same travels was picked and taken to stations for a warm bed
and breakfast on my travels. No arrest and cell door wide open with full
access to coffee.

Loren next time you get mugged try yelling for a 'Gangsta' if you have
so little faith in law enforcement.

The point is....break up the Police Gangs....And give the power to those
who really care....Stop the quotas and look for problems...not
money....The Police Gang problem is just that...a growing GANG
Problem...its time to remember that their job is protecting us....It is
not perpetuating a system based on income rather than
protection....Giving them the power to do the things they do is killing
us...and our FREEDOM....Oh yes....I'm sorry..you young folks don't
remember that!..do you?

Like I said, I see the same things some of these people say they have
experienced. Something as simple as....If I get pulled over for
speeding, I can assure you, I'm NOT going to get a ticket. Is that
right? NO! I can understand the frunstration that these people must
feel, but to judge us all is as wrong as the cop committing the crimes
they speak of. For you to have to worry about a cop being corrupt and
arriving at the scene you are a part of is the same as ME arriving at
the scene concerned about a person who has been wronged by a cop. Don't
you see my point?

IF WE AS PEOPLE TURN OUR BACKS ON ALL LAW AND POLICE OFFICERS

THEN WE WILL ONLY HELP THE GOOD COPS WE HAVE TURN ON THERE ON

CONVICTIONS OF PRIDE AND JUSTICE.....

THERE ARE ALWAYS TWO SIDES TO EVERY STORY, AND THE PRESS ARE NOT

ARE FRIENDS, THEY HAVE PAINTED MANY WRONGS AND KNEW THEY WERE

WRONG BEFORE GOING TO PRESS, BUT KNEW THE PPS WOULD BUY MORE

NEWSPAPERS IF THEY WAITED TO TELL THE REAL TRUTHS!!!!

SO, IT IS LIKE SOME HAVE SAID HERE...

THERE IS GOOD AND BAD IN ALL PPS...AND ITS THAT SIMPLE!!!!
