That is not the only time that it took several times to electrocute someone. There was one man to whom that happened. Turned out years later that he was innocent. In fact, the person who really did it had written a confession letter and it just sat in some judges office for nearly two decades. It saved his wife being executed, but not him.
Anyway, I agree with the death penalty. I just don't think the system is capable of using it properly. And we have the science now, that all death penalty cases with dna evidence ought to be looked at and processed with modern science. I saw a great play at the Blue Barn that was based on a group of innocent people who were sitting on death row and their cases were finally over turned, but not after spending ten years or more on death row. One person had to wait for a family member to go through law school in order to find anyone willing to take his case. Some people are to evil to live, but is it really worth executing innocent people and saying sorry about it later? |

Moondark, like you, I also support the death penalty, despite the limitations and possible mistakes. And, yes, I believe mistakes are made in the system.
I faced the death penalty, erroneously, yet I still support it. When someone has been given over to a "reprobate mind" (as in child molesters) there is no other option. Grace & Peace, Devo |

it does make me wonder how many people have been executed wrongly before d.n.a come into view...but i do know that durring a show on american justice..117 people were released from death row in the past decade and exhonerated for thier crimes..because of d.n.a...the death pennalty has been around since the dawn of mankind..how many thousands of innocent people were killed because of a lack of real evidence..yes i am a ardent believer in the death pennalty...but there must be no margin for error

tomie... If you stick around long enough, you'll find that dragoness is always sticking her foot in her mouth. Just ignore her and she'll get distracted by something else soon enough. You are right on this issue but she'll never admit she's wrong about anything. I'm sure you know the type. Hey, mrtxstr, thanks for that insight; I was begining to think so but now, you reasured. GOD bless. |

Man, Kol, you got the words, doncha? Yes. consider how many men there are in maximun security prisons right now for the crims of murder..there is right now as we speak an estimated 23 serial killers in america....right now!!..the green river killer who was brought to justice not too long ago after going on sprees for decades...the thought to how many people are murdered every year is unfathomable my friend...but as a whole this planet does not have the resourses to know when or where the next victim will be..we can learn from the serial killers who have been apprehended though...such as ted bundy..before he was executed he became a paramountal figure in the minds of a serial killer.. but i have no doubt that the killings will continue..so my answer to you friend...god bless the ones who were saved...as for the amount..retorically speaking..very few |

Please forgive me Koulhouszer, for interrrupting your thread again but I feel compelled to show forth evidence on Planned Parenthood that some people close their eyes to. Know what I mean, Dragoness.
After 30 years and 42 million victims, pro-abortion advocates continue their assault on the unborn. As you probably know, Planned Parenthood has a long and disturbing history of promoting abortion in this country. One of its most egregious recent acts involved paying students at an Ohio high school $100 apiece to be "outreach workers," with an additional $5 for each patient they recruit for the local Planned Parenthood clinic.13 Imagine that! They paid $5 for the life of a baby! Consider an "artwork and poster contest" hosted by Planned Parenthood's "SaveRoe.com" Web site. Participants in the poster contest were encouraged to submit "an original piece of artwork or poster that celebrates 30 years of choice and illustrates the concept that 'Behind Every Choice Is a Story.'" But there was a requirement for those wishing to participate: "Children under age 18 must have a parent or legal guardian's permission to submit their designs and for us to publish it along with their name."14 The irony is that this stipulation came from an organization that has campaigned relentlessly against parental consent laws and in favor of a young girl's right to terminate her pregnancy without her parents' knowledge! Wall Street Journal columnist James Taranto rightly asked in an editorial, "How come if a kid is old enough to have an abortion, she's not old enough to make a poster celebrating choice?"15 This was taken from Dr. James Dobson's newletter on "Focus on the Family". Can you support your claims, Dragoness? T mie |

Thread Hijacking! You all know, you can start another thread on that issue. I to find it annoying that people always try to tie choice issues with death penalty issues. Two seperate issues.

very good...i mean we can imagine what it must have been like in that execution room, and what the witnesses saw..but the child must have suffered terribly herself before she died...many guards were hoping that he would be placed in population..not segragation..in this case it was not merely death for a death..but suffering for a suffering before death.. you have a great point miss sudecia..unless it is our own child... thank you They dont always suffer In generl population expecially if they can hold their own, But if they would have put him in with the punks (gay men) He may have got what he deserved. If he was in seg he had no contact with anyother inmates so he could not get what he should have had coming. As for the execution... anyone who hurts a child rapes kills molests, deserves the same punishment and suffering that child indured. I used to be against the death penelty But I had it explained to me in terms i could understand What would you want to happen to the man if he did that to your child??? But they should have done his execution with more power so he would have died the first time |

But they should have done his execution with more power so he would have died the first time hi miss bright eyes..and welcome... you see there would have been no way for this man to ever been placed in popualtion..it would either been in solitary..or segragation..because in population there is a rule amunst inmates...there is no crime more deserving of death then a child rapist..this is the only reasons why animals like this are kept away from population..even the most hardend criminals hate baby rapists and they all would have had thier turn with him...in segragation.he would have been placed with other rapists..but it didnt take long before he was placed in with the others who were awaiting the chair..they have thier own sections in a prison.. he might have very well been able to hold his own in general population..but when there is many other inmates after you ,and wanting to kill you for your crime..there is nothing much that you can do to prevent it..god willing thanks for your post..very informative and intelligent |
