Parables allow you to make statements that would otherwise get you in trouble.

In old England, those old nursery rhymes like Humpty Dumpty and Little Jack Horner were political satires.

Many of Jesus’ parables made the Pharisees angry, because they taught things that weren’t to their liking, but stated them indirectly. The only teaching Jesus got in trouble for was His plain teaching that He is the Son of God.

they meaning the parables themselves, not the Pharisees.

That may not seem clear what sweet Britty is writing.

Hello, dear. Please forgive my presumptive intrusion.love

Not at all my dear.

Thank you for adding that clarification.

Matthew 7:7-12 (NIV) "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. 9 "Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

Matthew 11:25-30 (NIV) At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26 Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. 27 "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

John 6:25-59 (NIV) When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?" 26 Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. 27 Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval." 28 Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?" 29 Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

John 6.43 Jesus answered. 44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets: 'They will all be taught by God.' Everyone who listens to the Father and learns from him comes to me. 46 No one has seen the Father except the one who is from God; only he has seen the Father. 47 I tell you the truth, he who believes has everlasting life.

Does God Want Us To Be Poor?

I don’t believe He does, although He did say that the poor would always be with us. I do believe God wants to remove anything that gets in the way of a personal relationship with Him.

The Eye of a Needle
This is one bible story that deals with wealth and is often misused and misunderstood more than most.

Jesus is not teaching that we have to be poor. The story also appears in Matthew chapter 19, verses 16 to 30; Mark chapter 10, verses 17 to 31; and Luke chapter 18, verses 18 to 30.

In the account in Mark, Jesus looked at the rich young man and loved him.

The disciples were surprised to hear Jesus’s words. Their culture believed that rich people
were most likely to go to heaven.

Deuteronomy 8
18 “And you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”

Many of the people obviously approved by God in the Old Testament were wealthy. Job, Abraham, Jacob (Israel), and Solomon are good examples.

Today, even though some people may believe the opposite is true, you have to be poor
To get to heaven, the focus is still on money, not on the relationship with God.

So the rich man’s problem was not that he was rich but that his focus was wrong.

Because Solomon did not ask for selfish things, God rewarded Solomon greatly. Solomon’s focus was clearly on what God would want (for all of His people).

To those with a genuine hunger for God, the parable is both an effective and memorable vehicle for the conveyance of divine truths. Our Lord’s parables contain great volumes of truth in very few words—and His parables, rich in imagery, are not easily forgotten. So, then, the parable is a blessing to those with willing ears. But to those with dull hearts and ears that are slow to hear, the parable is also an instrument of both judgment and mercy.

jesus never taught any man how to act, and all that he said was prophecy, not commandemnts.......

was it not spoken to live by the law was to die by the law........

the feel good ways your religion make you feel about yourself mean nothing of the truth, which jesus said all were poor that did not know the TRUTH, and he did not speak or plan for literal food........

that is why he said the poor would always be amoung us, as when all seen the truth all would be poor as for money also, as when the truth is made known all exchange of money CEASE....."and the smoke of commerce rose up and was burned in a day, and all the kings of the earth were amazed.......and it shall be that a loaf of bread shall be worth a bar of gold......so when mens daily bread has all been consumed, each being will be worth a bar of gold, and it was said men were sent to earth to be pruified as gold in the fire..........the literal mind can not interpret scripture, or it will make it a mortal plan, of many dying as bad and only the good living.......not the truth/god's plan......have we forgotten all the rest of the story

when he said he would tear down the temple in one day and rebuild it, he was not speaking literally, but rather of religion that men preached from it's pulpits.....to enslave others with a law of deeds for salvation from a hell, when hell was as earth, and each is born into it........and eden is as earth, the garden, when seen thru the whole truth..........

the only ones that jesus called out and did not condem himself were the religious, but called them as a brood of vipers......of their father the devil, the religious MIND......because they looked at others and seen sin and not their own lack of love for humankind, and told many others they were condemed to the pit for sins.......do we not see we live on the pit of fire already, lol......have we forgotten that all that judge will be judged in the same mannor....

it was said god so loved the world, not just the good hearing ones.......none are hard of hearing less god block the ear, as it was said god hardened pharoahs heart, and god is just and fair in all his ways, and what then is done for one must be done for ALL.....it was said all men were CREATED EQUAL!!!!! it was said god was in the beginning the truth, the life, and the way......the TRUTH first.....nothing more, nothing less......not love commandments, not do good efforts for self attainment and enlightenment

how can one make god/truth that if known IS unconditional love to now be love with condition of good deeds.......please.....none except self-righteous would even begin to believe such a god.......it goes against every word of the bible and all that jesus spoke...............

good morning britty.......

but no questions of simple logic and truth are answered, and these things that are as fables that have been taught in times past have not given power of the TRUTH for all to see, but keep many as in satans lair, and it was said the truth would bruise the head of the serpent, the religious half-truth of words without power to make known the mysteries of the prupose of all mankind has seen......but if their be such a thing as children of god as was spoken, than does the child ever grow up and see more, and learn more......as it was said the meat of the word would one day give strength to mount up with wings as eagles, and to quench every firey dart of the great adersary.....the human minds perception of reality of god.....

The Seekers
By John Masefield

FRIENDS and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blessed abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.

Not for us are content, and quiet, and peace of mind,
For we go seeking a city that we shall never find.

There is no solace on earth for us—for such as we—
Who search for a hidden city that we shall never see.

Only the road and the dawn, the sun, the wind, and the rain,
And the watch-fire under stars, and sleep, and the road again.

We seek the City of God, and the haunt where beauty dwells,
And we find the noisy mart and the sound of burial bells.

Never the golden city, where radiant people meet,
But the dolorous town where mourners are going about the street.

We travel the dusty road till the light of the day is dim,
And sunset shows us spires away on the world’s rim.

We travel from dawn to dusk, till the day is past and by,
Seeking the Holy City beyond the rim of the sky.

Friends and loves we have none, nor wealth nor blest abode,
But the hope of the City of God at the other end of the road.

God's Message to Woman
author Unknown

When I created the heavens and the earth, I spoke them into being. When I created man, I formed him and breathed life into his nostrils. But you, woman, I fashioned after I breathed the breath of life into man because your nostrils are too delicate. I allowed a deep sleep to come over him so I could patiently
and perfectly fashion you.

Man was put to sleep so that he could not interfere with the creativity. From one bone I fashioned you. I chose the bone that protects man's life. I chose the rib, which protects his heart and lungs and supports him, as you are meant to do.

Around this one bone I shaped you. I modeled you. I created you perfectly and beautifully. Your characteristics are as the rib, strong yet delicate and fragile. You provide protection for the most delicate organ in man, his heart. His heart is the center of his being; his lungs hold the breath of life. The rib cage will allow itself to be broken before it will allow damage to the heart.

Support man as the rib cage supports the body. You were not taken from his feet, to be under him, nor were you taken from his head, to be above him. You were taken from his side, to stand beside him and be held close to his side. You are my perfect angel. You are my beautiful little girl. You have grown to be a splendid woman of excellence, and my eyes fill when I see the virtue in your heart. Your eyes -- don't change them. Your lips -- how lovely when they part in prayer. Your nose so perfect in form, your hands so gentle to touch.

I've caressed your face in your deepest sleep; I've held your heart close to mine. Of all that lives and breathes, you are the most like me.

Adam walked with me in the cool of the day and yet he was lonely. He could not see me or touch me. He could only feel me. So everything I wanted Adam to share and experience with me, I fashioned in you: my holiness, my strength, my purity, my love, my protection and support.

You are special because you are the extension of me. Man represents my image --
woman, my emotions. Together, you represent the totality of God.

So man -- "treat woman well. Love her, respect her, for she is fragile". In hurting her, you hurt me. What you do to her, you do to me. In crushing her, you only damage your own heart, the heart of your Father and the heart of her Father. Woman, support man. In humility, show him the power of emotion I have
given you. In gentle quietness show your strength. In love, show him that you are the rib that protects his inner self.

we all live in an age of grace from God by the victory of Christ Jesus resurrection

and the power of this freedom means all have greater access to God by grace than the days hindering man prior to such liberation access to fuller and mre readliy comprehensions of truth in action

the words of Jesus changed the world of man forever and yet he is not universally known for his magnificent love

He is known universally for his words.

His words are the law that mankind finds the truth of his words in

and that universal acceptance is now accepted to only mean that his philosophy withstood the scrutiny of time.

But never has his unconditional love been fully and universally plumbed to the depths of its meaning by those that fall short of the offer he gave to come into fellowship with God intimately through the saving knowledge of his relationship with the Father which was and is and will always be an invitation to all to receive in the persent age of the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

It is the invitation to man to partake of the love and guidance that is in Christ Jesus that gives inspiration to the heart to know what is known of God and given to man to fully comprehend and rejoice in.

The righteousness of God, and not the righteousness of God's principles alone.

Our own self righteousness declares His truth is true, but it does not justify that we are inherent in that truth.

His righteousness is assured and affirmed as we come to Him for the fullness and completion of wearing His love and grace and truth in fellowship and relationship directly with a grateful and thankful heart free to inherit His Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is the culmination of His Word in this age.

Not the judgements made by civil society that His Word has merit, which is short of the full message of God's love without the presence of the Holy Spirit in one's being.

Truly the ultimate judgement of God is declared in His magnificent Love by receiving all the more with the gift of the Holy Spirit which teaches all truth and testifies of Jesus' and all that Jesus is in God.

One is Spirit and the other is the letter.

One is Life and the other is but a measure of life.

The measure is not Life but evidence that Life exists.

The letter is partial.

The Life is impartial

The letter gives us access to that Life and is the purpose of the letter.

The letter is not the purpose, in and of itself. Even the letter of the Living Word in Jesus Christ.

the challenge remains.

to know the depths of that Life and Love and Truth and Way.

He is alive.

His Word is alive.

His Promise is alive.

Recieving all that He gives is Life.

"I am the way and the truth and the life"

He did not command that we be baptised with the Spirit and water, He offered it.

He started that presence in His disciples.

That witness is in His disciples.

His disciples bear the Gift today.

We are His ambassadors in His absence that is only present through His saints.

History has satisfied the lusts of ungodly men in terrifying the world of man with great evils usurped and maligned by the use of His name to villify and plunder and destroy under the cloak of deceitful hatreds perpetrated falsly in His name disguised as the Church of Jesus Christ.

That alone is describes the deceptive nature of the self righteousness of man that leaves its stain on the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.

That does not give credibility to coming to God any other way for the Love of God in truth.

It only succeeds in perverting it in the hearts and minds of men that are deceived already.

If it were possible for the Church of Jesus Christ to give up in defeat, we would have long ago.

The Church of Jesus Christ endures because the light of Jesus Christ endures to shine in the darkness as a beacon of light in this present darkness which is the unfulfilled heart of man.

Nothing , no weapon, formed against us shall prosper.

We are victorious in Christ Jesus, not in the carnal judgement of weak and fearful and unbelieving men.

We are but the bride of Christ, called and chosen.

learn, grow and be at peace.

THE OLD-TIMER'S PRAYER

Blessed are they who understand
My faltering step and palsied hand.

Blessed are they who know my ears today
Must strain to hear the thoughts you say.

Blessed are they who seem to know
That my eyes are dim and my wits are slow.

Blessed are they who look away
When coffee spilled on the table today.

Blessed are they with a cheery smile
Who stop to chat for a little while.

Blessed are they who never say
"You've told that story twice today."

Blessed are they who know the ways
To bring back memories of yesterdays.

Blessed are they who make it known
That I'm loved, respected and not alone.

Blessed are they who ease the days
On my journey home in loving ways.

JUDGE GENTLY

Pray, don't find fault with the man that limps
Or stumbles along the road.
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
Or struggled beneath his load.

There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt
Though hidden away from view.
Or the burden he bears placed on your back
Might cause you to stumble too.

Don't sneer at the man who's down today
Unless you have felt the blow
That caused his fall or felt the shame
That only the fallen know.

You may be strong but still the blows
That was his if dealt to you
In the selfsame way, at the selfsame time
Might cause you to stagger too.

Don't be too harsh with the man that sins
Or pelt him with word or stone
Unless you are sure - yea, doubly sure
That you have no sins of your own.

For you know, perhaps, if the tempter's voice
Should whisper as soft to you
As it did to him when he went astray
It might cause you to falter too.
