Hi Tiffa and Miguel, how are you guys doing? flowerforyou flowerforyou

'Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’

So we say with confidence, ‘The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?’
Hebrews 13: 5b-6 (NIV)

Jesus loves me. That's a simple little song that many of us
learn as children. Simple and yet powerfully profound, that
one statement grounds me in the truth of who God says I am.
Friends do not always make you feel accepted. Accomplishments
will never truly make you feel secure. Being surrounded with
people does not mean you won’t ever feel lonely.

I have a question, should a Christian always look for a fellow Christian for dating, long term.. etc.?

What should a Christian woman expect from a Christian man in terms of behavior, conduct, morals etc?

same goes in reverse.

The Bible says
2Co 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

I would for sure say yes....on both sides. I think that especially for a Christian you have to hold a certain standard when you date or in anything really.

That is what makes it so hard in the matchmaking thread....I want compatible people....I think its going well for JB who is part of the reason I did it again. I did this on another site and had actual marriages and matches and lots of new friendships...so all good.

I was definitely glad to hear the guy I was talking to is Christian. I was really hoping and it sounded like he might be but I wasn't sure.

But it did just make me happy , he doesn't go to church that often but both of us work in tourism so I understand that...Sunday is one of our busy days...and we can't always get that day off. Plus while I love my church I don't feel I always have to go...if you know what I mean. I have a close relationship with Christ...it helps, obviously, to go to church...especially mine because we're just such like a family but with threads like this  , my own personal relationship with God, talks with my friends whom are also Christian (had a good one today), it makes it so I can remain close to Him...and while it sounds cheesy...so does music I listen to...a lot of it is considered Christian and the others that aren't are either Christian based (sung by christians and have Christian ties) or just have good lyrics. Now I do listen to quite a mix but I do have mostly that...and it just helps...especially when I can sing a long with it. God gave me my love of music...playing, singing and listening to it. I thank Him for it everyday. (among many other things obviously ;) )

Hoping matchmaking is going well...maybe I should bring Chet on and see if you match me with him...HA HA.

Though...hmmm...I think we did well...at least this is what I'm thinking so far.

God's Blessings to you all

Debs,

TLW - A good christian man for sure.
He is a little young don't you think. I believe
he deserves a sweet young christian lady, so he can
have a few 'cute' children.

As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen ~
1 Peter 4:10-11(NKJV)

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.
Hebrews 4: 12(Amp)

Thanks for the responses to my question so far, I wonder if there are any more brave souls out there who will share?

flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

One of the reasons I ask is I am surprised and a little
grumble at the amount of christian men who will send a request for an IM - Instant message. - no prior email, no introduction, no sign of their real intent. Sorry guys,
the request will be refused.

And he said, “Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the LORD to you: ‘Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God’s ... You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!’ Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the LORD is with you.” ~ 2 Chronicles 20: 15 & 17

This scripture here is a promise we can hold on to when going through difficult circumstances that seem out of our control and overwhelming. There are some battles that we simply can’t fight – and shouldn’t fight in our own strength. Sometimes God tells us to take our positions, stand still and see His deliverance. Sometimes we need to take our hands off, stand back and let God fight for us.

We needn’t fear what comes against us, but to stand firm in our faith. God knows the whole situation. Though we feel overwhelmed when we look at our circumstances, the Lord sees the whole picture and sees the way out for us. We need to let God have control and fight the battle we’re facing. He has promised that He is with us – and that He will bring us through.

If you are facing a battle today that seems overwhelming, give it over to God and let Him fight for you. He will work it all out, and make a way where it seems there is no way.
