Your beauty should not come for outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is of great worth in God's sight. For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful." 1 Peter 3:3-4

I was in another thread on religion and the question was what does WWJD mean to you.....I thought you would enjoy my response....and I would love to see yours also.....

God Bless

Debbie

Thank you miles for this........It is so huge.......and I think the core of what I believe. I live every day and say before anything I do WWJD......For me my life is at peace. I don't worry about material things.....because if the good Lord decided today that I was going home....would I take any of it with me? NOPE I live knowing that everything I do is with a purpose and that is to make a difference on this planet for the short time that I am here. Where the Lord leads me.....there I go.....whether it is to talk to the ladies at a State Prison, or to travel to India.....and minister and build a church and orphanage and water well......I listen and the Lord answers to which I follow with a glad heart. I don't worry about finances because God is always taking care of me. I don't worry about a roof over my head, because God will always make sure I have one. I don't worry about food for myself and my family, Because the Lord shall always provide. I am a firm believer in it coming back 10 fold.....

If a homeless man needs food, there go I.....If a family is in need of anything, there I am, If their are injustices of this world then I shall go and see what I can do. The adage that one man or woman can move mountains.....I believe through the Lord My Savior that this is true.....If led by him there is nothing on this planet that I cannot accomplish.....And to remember that I do it all for His Glory and not my own. And at the end of the day when I close my eyes and rest The Lord is the last one I speak too.....and when I rise with the sun shining on my face the Lord God is the first one I say good morning too and then listen to what needs to be done for that day.

God Bless

Debbie

Well just popping in to say...got caught by the cold thats going around. I haven't been online for long the past few days. But feeling better and decided to pop in for a nice cup of tea...some herbal apple cinnamon...that's my favorite. (Well besides caramel vanilla chai tea).
I'm getting excited, I work at Cedar Point...well in the summer and in less than a month I'll be starting back there again. Castaway (its indoor water park) is nice but I need the busyness of Cedar Point. happy
And I've been talking to Chet for two months now happy

Hope everyone is having a good start to their year. Can you believe its almost March already??

God's Blessings to all

John Milton. (1608–1674)

Paradise Regained: The Third Book

..
Yet He at length, time to himself best known,
Remembering Abraham, by some wondrous call
May bring them back, repentant and sincere, 435
And at their passing cleave the Assyrian flood,
While to their native land with joy they haste,
As the Red Sea and Jordan once he cleft,
When to the Promised Land their fathers passed.
To his due time and providence I leave them.” 440
So spake Israel’s true King, and to the Fiend
Made answer meet, that made void all his wiles.
So fares it when with truth falsehood contends.

(WWJD) -
Luke 27-38 - law of love

Possessions Are Less Important than Love (6:30)
The Golden Rule (6:31)
Learn Mercy (6:35-36)

Generosity in giving must be matched by generosity of judgment. The rule of measure for measure does not mean that God deals with men on a basis of strict justice but that what we receive is in proportion to what we have given. He who gives and forgives sparingly receives sparingly. The gifts of God, including his mercy, come most freely to those who most freely pass them on to others. I think when we learn this we are learning what is the essence of the Gospels. The reward Is God-likeness.

My Lord is First

My Friends are Second

JOHN 16:2-3

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

Ant these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

Psalm 34

The Lord My Savior led me to this Psalm to shaare with my sweet friends....

I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.
O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.
They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.
The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.
Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.
The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.
Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Feral, dear.flowerforyou

How wonderfully appropriate and timely!

I had just penned a response in Spider's thread that would display this very truth but not as clearly as the Word itself does so very much better!

And yet, though I have disturbed the waters with words of my own that in no wise can match this Psalm's, I draw some measure of comfort from this Psalm as showing how very well His hand does light my life and the lives of all of us!!!!!

God Bless You, and all here in the coffehouse!

Hi Debs, thanks for sharing that timely verse.

Timothy Dwight. 1752–1817
Love to the Church

I LOVE thy kingdom, Lord,
The house of thine abode,
The church our blest Redeemer saved
With his own precious blood.

I love thy church, O God!
Her walls before thee stand,
Dear as the apple of thine eye,
And graven on thy hand.

If e'er to bless thy sons
My voice or hands deny,
These hands let useful skill forsake,
This voice in silence die.

For her my tears shall fall,
For her my prayers ascend;
To her my cares and toils be given
Till toils and cares shall end.

Beyond my highest joy
I prize her heavenly ways,
Her sweet communion, solemn vows,
Her hymns of love and praise.

Jesus, thou friend divine,
Our Saviour and our King,
Thy hand from every snare and foe
Shall great deliverance bring.

Sure as thy truth shall last,
To Zion shall be given
The brightest glories earth can yield,
And brighter bliss of heaven.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1 ESV)
