The King of Love My Shepherd Is The King of love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never, I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine forever. Where streams of living water flow My ransomed soul He leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth. Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me. In death’s dark vale I fear no ill With Thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me. Thou spread’st a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And O what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth! And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never; Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house forever Another one of my favorite hymns. |

Britty,
it has been thirty five years since I sang that song and you got it completely right. My mind is old and lazy sommetimes, but the translation is exacly right. My German is weak from lack of use. Liegst... I knew it should have been 'machst' and not 'macht' later. my tense was off, even in my mistakes. ich, du, er..sie..es / wir, ihr, sie? I miss it these days. But how amazing once again that you know these things. Well, I am not surprised, but glad that you picked up on it. |

My brother taught himself German, I find it easier to learn how to read a language but not pronunciation of same. French and German were the most popular languages to learn when I was at school. Latin at high school and so often I wish I had taken that, but alas the science subjects grabbed my attention. The English translation is supposed to change the meaning a little but, it is a nice song. |

Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a blessed day. Keeping your prayer requests in mind Gerald. JB - a little note for you is stuck on the wall by the coffee. It says "Where's my mail?" Hope you are having a wonderful day. |

"In all their troubles, he was troubled, too. He didn't send someone else to help them. He did it himself, in person. Out of his own love and pity he redeemed them. He rescued them and carried them along for a long, long time." Isaiah 63:9 (MSG) |

“Salute Priscilla and Aquila” (2 Timothy 4:19). Timothy was the leader at the church in Ephesus, and Aquila and Priscilla had stayed on to help him. The couple was dedicated to GOD’S MINISTRY, not GOD’S ministers. I believe that the ministry of couples such as these speaks volumes about their personal relationship with one another and with God. The hospitality that they provide to others can also be a doorway to salvation. "Bloom where you are planted" |

I am thinking of tea and pancakes today....
As the legend goes (which may or may not be true), on a Shrove Tuesday in 1445, an Olney, Buckinghamshire housewife was preparing pancakes for the midday meal, trying to use up all the family's perishables prior to the start of the forty day Lenten fasting. Suddenly, the church bells began to ring, calling the townspeople out to church for shriving (being forgiven of sin). The housewife, in her haste, tore out of the house, still wearing her apron and holding the frying pan containing her pancake, as she made her way to church. Pancake Day was born. Ever since then, the local women still participate in pancake races every year on Shrove Tuesday. The rules are fairly simple. Participants (who must be at least 18 years of age) must wear the housewife uniform: a dress, apron, and a head covering; being married is not required. They run the route, which begins at the market square at 11:55 am, flipping a cooked pancake in a frying pan at the start and end of the race. The pancake must still be intact at the end of the race. The first woman to complete the course (which is 415 yards) arrives at St. Peter and St. Paul Church, serves her pancake to the bell ringer and gets a kiss from him, and then is declared the winner. After the race, the entire town gathers at the church for Shrove Tuesday services. Race competitors get special seating in the church. Prizes are awarded after the service. Pancake Day is celebrated annually throughout England with pancake eating and races, but the celebration in Olney is the most famous. Additionally, the town of Liberal, Kansas has joined in on the fun, adopting Olney's race for their Fat Tuesday celebrations. In London, Westminster School boys celebrate Pancake Day by participating in what is known as the Pancake Grease. At 11 am on Shrove Tuesday, they are led out onto the playground, where the school cook flings a giant pancake over a 5 meter high bar. The boys scramble to grab the pancake, and whoever tears off the biggest piece gets a monetary prize from the dean. The celebrated Pancake Day foodstuff is usually very thin (like a crepe), sprinkled with caster (superfine) sugar and fresh lemon juice or Golden syrup yummy! |

Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring Jesu, joy of man's desiring, Holy Wisdom, Love most bright; Drawn by Thee, our souls, aspiring, Soar to uncreated light. Word of God, our flesh that fashion'd, With the fire of life impassion'd, Striving still to truth unknown, Soaring, dying, round Thy throne. Through the way where hope is guiding, Hark, what peaceful music rings! Where the flock, in Thee confiding, Drink of joy from deathless springs. Theirs is beauty's fairest pleasure; Theirs is wisdom's holiest treasure. Thou dost ever lead Thine own In the love of joys unknown. |

Christian Couples
Acts 18:2 And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them. Romans 16:3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: 2 Timothy 4:19 Salute Prisca and Aquila, and the household of Onesiphorus. 1 Corinthians 16:19 The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house I see this couple as a good example of how Christian couples should be. I would welcome the thoughts of others on this. Do you have any examples of couples you know, that you would like to share something about? Good morning Tiffa, JB, Wouldee, Debs (FCL), Winnie, Gerald and where's Funches - don't tell me Tiffa chased you out with the broom? Have a great day all |

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." Luke 22:42 (NIV) Have you struggled with wanting to do the will of the Lord, and found it difficult to submit to His leading? I love the Lord, but there have been times when my responses have not always been something to be proud of. My sometimes stubborn nature reluctantly submits. It is easy to be human and feel angry or hurt when things just do not make sense. Even when God is near, sometimes one just cannot hear that still, small voice. But by listening, we understand and know that God is faithful and will be there through every crisis and through every joy. |

This is MY God.
He is the First and Last, the Beginning and the End! He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all! He is the Architect of the universe and The Manager of all times. He always was, He always is, and He always will be... Unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone! He was bruised and brought healing! He was pierced and eased pain! He was persecuted and brought freedom! He was dead and brought life! He is risen and brings power! He reigns and brings Peace! The world can't understand him, The armies can't defeat Him, The schools can't explain Him, The leaders can't ignore Him. Herod couldn't kill Him, The Pharisees couldn't confuse Him, and The people couldn't hold Him! He is light, love, longevity, and Lord. He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God. He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure. His ways are right, His word is eternal, His will is unchanging, and His mind is on me. He is my Redeemer, He is my Savior, He is my guide, and He is my peace! He is my Joy, He is my comfort, He is my Lord, and He rules my life! I serve Him because His bond is love, His burden is light, and His goal for me is abundant life. I follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise, The power of the powerful, The ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, The leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and The sovereign Lord of all that was and is and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size. His goal is a relationship with ME! He will never leave me, Never forsake me, Never mislead me, Never forget me, Never overlook me, and Ever cancel my appointment in His appointment book! When I fall, He lifts me up! When I fail, He forgives! When I am weak, He is strong! When I am lost, He is the way! When I am afraid, He is my courage! When I stumble, He steadies me! When I am hurt, He heals me! When I am broken, He mends me! When I am blind, He leads me! When I am hungry, He feeds me! When I face trials, He is with me! When I face persecution, He shields me! When I face problems, He comforts me! When I face loss, He provides for me! He is everything for everybody, everywhere, Every time, and every way. He is God, He is faithful. I am His, and He is mine! So, if you're wondering why I feel so secure, understand this... He said it and that settles it. God is in control, I am on His side, and That means all is well with my soul. Everyday is a blessing for GOD Is! |

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE AND MAY THE LORD ALWAYS HAVE BLESSINGS UPON YOU ALL......I DID THIS IN A RELIGION THREAD AND WANTED TO SHARE WITH ALL MY PEEPS HERE.....ALSO BRITTY GOING TO BRING THE OTHER ONE FROM YESTERDAY IN......ENJOY
This post was in a religion thread.....and I just felt compelled to share this with all. The person posted this: I know for a long time I have had a cultist type of lifestlye and mindset. Yet there seems to be no cult in which I could be apart of. I desire a cult where all live in peace and love for each other and in harmony with the world and its environment. Where we do no think of what is good for ourselves but what is good for the community. That there is no leader, but rather servants who seek out what is best and according to the needs of the community. It is a place where all are welcome and accepted and each see himself not as one apart from others, but one as a part of the whole. A place where we encourage each other, support each other, and beleive in each other and in the promise that the world can hold. A place where we no only respect and accept each other's differences but see them as an expansion of our own understanding and knowledge. That our difference are like the colors in a beautice painting, alive and vibrant. Each lives by the liberty and faith which is in him to be who he desires to be for the glory of God or for the the well being of himself and others. Is there such a place, if not we we try to make such a place such a world. Try and try again until we can get it right and live according to love, peace and respect and good will to all. I RESPONDED WITH THIS: It already exsist and I am living it.....May I say you might want to visit the Christian Coffeehouse sometime......It's full of love and everything you speak of. Also I might add that I am going on #11 of my Matchmaking thread......there is not only major diversity such as hetrosexuals, transvestites, gays, lesbians and many many people with diverse religious and spiritual beliefs....and I have had only one little argument in over 11,000 posts.......so also filled with budding friends, budding romance and just a happy happy place to be. So I say this to the naysayers God is alive and well and living in many many people, who can share love, friendship and diversity and most important respect each individual for just being them. On the first day, God created the dog and said:
'Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. For this, I will give you a life span of twenty years.' The dog said: 'That's a long time to be barking. How about only ten years and I'll give you back the other ten?' So God agreed. On the second day, God created the monkey and said: 'Entertain people, do tricks, and make them laugh. For this, I'll give you a twenty-year life span.' The monkey said: 'Monkey tricks for twenty years? Tha t's a pretty long time to perform. How about I give you back ten like the Dog did?' And God agreed. On the third day, God created the cow and said: 'You must go into the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves and give milk to support the farmer's family. For this, I will give you a life span of sixty ye ars.' The cow said: 'That's kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. How about twenty and I'll give back the other forty?' And God agreed again. On the fourth day, God created man and said: 'Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. For this, I'll give you twenty years.' But man said: 'Only twenty yea rs? Could you possibly give me my twenty, the forty the cow gave back, the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back; that makes eighty, okay?' 'Okay,' said God, 'You asked for it.' So that is why for our first twenty years we eat, sleep, play and enjoy ourselves. For the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family. For the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren. And for the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone. Life has now been explained to you. There is no need to thank me for this valuable information. I'm doing it as a public service. |

Hey everybody...Im glad to know there is a forum like this on JSH, and I just found it tonight.
He does not treat us as our sin deserves or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him;as far as the east from the west,so far he has removed our transgressions from us. Psalm 103:10-12 |
