so you replaced tv with the internet............

i get caught up on the internet... sometimes for hours at a time... whats the difference?

so you replaced tv with the internet............ Indeed! I feel that the internet is a thousand times better than TV. At least when I am on the internet, I am constantly researching new information. And... the internet doesn't have commercials... just annoying pop-ups. |

yeah dumb ass whats the difference?

Sometimes I just like to zone out in front of the t.v. because it can be therapeutic. After a long, hard day at work, it's nice to just be entertained for a couple of hours, and sometimes on the weekend it's nice to just veg and not have to worry about having anything to do.

yeah dumb ass whats the difference? Dumb ass? No. I think you are wrong. There's a big difference when it comes to the internet and TV. Think about it. You've got a mind, don't you? And who said I spend countless hours on the net? |

You can learn things and gain new info. from t.v. It just depends on what you choose to watch. I like to be entertained and learn things from what I watch...just depends on my mood.

Agreed. you can learn things on both the TV and the internet. both sources are going to have trivial information, and both can have good information. I'd rather be behind the computer screen all day than the tv. Why? So I can control everything that is being done on the internet. Being that I do not watch movies on the net, my time spent online is usually to research something extensively. |

I just say to each their own. I don't really agree with the idea that t.v. can actually "ruin" someone's life, but there are indeed more constructive things people could do with their time. Oh well. Whatever, I guess.

A few hours of Mythbusters or Dirty Jobs can't ruin anyone...it teaches you how to make stuff explode, or how gross some people live

Well that can be said of anything that is not done in moderation.... in one way or another....

I don't watch as much tv as I used to. There is always that fear of becoming a telletubby. Probably some little kids that watched too much tv. Plus, there is always that fear that it might make me sterile. I can remember being told that as a child.

OK, I am single, so you know what? I watch it as much and as often as I want and don't feel guilty about it. And, I turn up the surround sound as loud as I want. Who cares? But, I DO have to get up and go for a 3-4 mile walk and hit the iron once in a while, just to keep the blood circulating.

The only TV that gets watched in my house is the one hooked up to the DVD player. TV shows suck up to much time, there are better things to be doing even if it's online.
