It’s not because it’s awesome, it’s awful.. people pay those high prices so they can say ‘ I live in San Francisco’ more cents than sense. People are fleeing because of the mismanagement of most of that state and cities. Lame out of touch politicians lead to a failure every time..
As a resident nearby, I can attest that San Francisco is a great city. Expensive, but still great. You should visit even if crowds and Liberals upset you (and I know they do). maps.app.goo.gl/YCZibgnkpm2MzYgR7 While you gripe about mismanagement, California is still better run than the federal government, and most other states. And our governor is smarter and better-looking than the president elect. Gavin Newsom is working on more housing units and getting the high-speed rail lines built, which are still being litigated by all the NIMBYs. Once that clears out, we'll get those homes and trains. Meanwhile, yeah, S. CA has good weather. |

I've never been to California, much less San Francisco, and honestly, I don't plan on going there. There are a lot of really great cities in the world, with nice weather, great culture of people living there. Honestly, I'm interested in cities that have a soul and an interesting story to tell.
Like Warsaw, for example, which was mostly destroyed by the Nazis at the end of World War II and reconstructed based on pre-war plans and images. Or Malbork, where there is the largest and well-preserved medieval castle in Europe. Also Krakow with its beautiful old town and legends. Also in Poland you can find the longest operating restaurant in Europe, 'Piwnica Świdnicka', operating with breaks since 1273 |

AGAIN you manage to slip in how good looking a guy is, just as you do on every "rate me" post a straight guy posts. AND your from San Fran. It's ok to come out of the closet now, even with Trump as President. Your "covertness" isn't fooling anyone.
Meanwhile, yeah, S. CA has good weather. I guess it's possible that I'm a closeted homosexual, and just lusting after guys by including "You seem like a good-looking guy," or maybe I'm just trying to be nice in the forum. Like the rules say I should. I won't apologize for that. mingle2.com/topic/249142 Also, it's not the 70s anymore, and homosexuals live all over the country. San Francisco may have more than its share of LGBTQ+ people, but not a monopoly. Maybe get with the times? |

There is good and bad in Wokeness...
In our days , yeah I am the ole guy, we were very aware of social norms... social injustice for example . Yes , we were more tolerant ... remember... make love not war ... Nowadays , people are intolerant of the tolerant ... and have nasty ways of showing it and some go to extremes ... which in most cases is totally unnecessary ...a good example of Wokeness is ... California getting rid of a reservoir ( which held plenty of water) to make a path for the salmon / fish to swim upstream.... yeah , bring back fish and help in the preservation of the planet .... without thought for ... what if there was a fire or something !!!! |

Merriam-Webster: "Aware of and actively attentive to important societal facts and issues" Thanks, is it supposed to be a good thing or a bad thing? As of now it’s a ‘ extinct thing’ that will no longer direct policy. And what was a important sociality issue that you would call woke? The 1% that call themselves trans. ? Not important. |

https://www.newsweek.com/california-wildfire-relief-risk-trump-funding-freeze-2022467 D Trump will be reviewing everything. CA government spending in the past has been out of control. Trump is an idiot and his shenanigans around the budget are just stunts to distract from the $billions he plans to give to himself and his rich campaign donors. He doesn't really care about voting laws in California, and his demands for new laws about it are unconstitutional. Each state gets to carry out their elections how they want, and states with voter ID laws have not seen less fraud than states without. California saves $billions by allowing voters to simply mail in their ballots. It's convenient and improves voter participation. It's also very secure. Trump wants to disenfranchise voters some more. |

Trump Administration Releases California Dam Water Without State Approval
www.newsweek.com/trump-administration-releases-california-dam-water-wildfires-2024659 According to the Times on Friday, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers had then been directed to dramatically increase the flow of water as federal data confirmed that by the end of Friday increased releases from Terminus Dam at Lake Kaweah and Schafer Dam at Lake Success would total approximately 1.6 billion gallons of water. The sudden water release has since stunned local officials, who scrambled to prevent potential flooding as state and federal water managers typically coordinate releases carefully, ensuring that enough water is retained for future agricultural use while preventing flood risks. However, the Trump administration's order bypassed this process, creating a chaotic response among local officials. The unprecedented release, which sent water rushing into the Central Valley, had no impact on the recent Los Angeles wildfires, despite Trump's claims, who took to his Truth Social account to tout the release of water. Trump really is an imbecile. He should stay out of states' business. |

OK, so from 2023 to 2024, it was reported that California "lost a total of 239,575 residents to other states." Then, there's this: Californians Who Left for Remote Work Have Shown 'Signs of Returning' www.newsweek.com/california-sees-surge-people-moving-state-1986685 Almost 1 in 10 Americans moving to other states are choosing California. But yeah, I get it. Housing costs in California are ridiculous! I can count myself among those who left California in 2023. For less than the price of a 1-bedroom condo near San Francisco, you can buy a 4-bedroom house in San Antonio, in a lovely gated community. But I moved back from Texas to California in 2024, because Texas is awful (no offense). |
