Topic: Hurricane Milton Is A Category 5 Headed Toward Florida | |
---|---|
Here's hoping that our friends and loved ones in Florida stay safe!
* According to the National Hurricane Center, Milton had maximum sustained wind speeds of 160 mph as of 11 a.m. EDT, qualifying it as a Category 5. * Milton is forecast to move near Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula Monday and Tuesday, then cross the eastern Gulf of Mexico and approach the west coast of Florida by Wednesday. * Some weakening is expected before the storm reaches the Florida Gulf coast, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, but Milton is “still likely to be a large and powerful hurricane at landfall in Florida, with life-threatening hazards at the coastline and well inland.” * The storm was about 730 miles west-southwest of Tampa as of 11 a.m. Monday. * Hurricane watches are in effect for the Florida Gulf Coast from Chokoloskee, about 90 miles south of Fort Meyers, to the mouth of the Suwanee River, including Tampa Bay, and for Lake Okeechobee, about 40 miles inland from West Palm Beach. * Tropical storm warnings cover much of the same area in Florida, with the addition of the Florida Keys, and a storm surge warning is in effect near Charlotte Harbor and Tampa Bay. * A storm surge could raise water levls by as much as 12 feet in Tampa Bay and between the Anclote River and Englewood in Florida, and by between 3 and 10 feet in other parts of the state (the Hurricane Center warms the surge "will be accompanied by large and dangerous waves”). * Hurricane Milton is expected to bring 5 to 10 inches of rain, with localized totals up to 15 inches, across parts of the Florida Peninsula and the Keys through Wednesday night, which could cause "considerable flash, urban, and areal flooding," according to the NHC. www.forbes.com/sites/saradorn/2024/10/07/hurricane-milton-is-a-category-5-headed-toward-florida-heres-what-to-know/ |

It is sad for sure they don't need another right now... As of now the winds are up to 175mp... That maybe true but there was a year when Louisiana got hit by at least 4 (anybody correct me if I’m wrong) and they had hardly anytime to clean up before the next one hit. There was a year when we were about to be hit by a big one but it went to Houston instead. I remember a customer saying to me that we, Corpus Christi, should of been hit and not them (she was from Houston) and that’s not nice to say to anybody cause I definitely wouldn’t say that to anybody. They go where they go and there’s nothing we can do about it. Climate change people has been ignored far too long by our world leaders just so those big air polluters can keep on going and fines will never do the trick, they’ll keep doing it no matter what. |

They should be better prepared on the Florida gulf coast than the citizens of N.C. thanks to the leadership of Governor DeSantis. The Federal response has been horrific in the wake of destruction in N.C. Where is the leadership from the N.C. Governor . He’s rarely seen with info on the destruction and the rescues or restoring of power. The democrats are lost when it comes to actual emergency response . If anybody is having a breakdown it’s the liberal fools that constantly defend the anti-American values that Kamala still believes in but is willing to lie about just to win. She will continue the asinine policies that her and Joe created and we WILL have another 4 years of destroying this great country..The real breakdown will be when Donald Trump is elected the 45th. President of the U.S. and you democrats start screaming and crying and freaking out like you did in 2016. I can’t wait to see that again. It’s such a good feeling seeing you liberal democrats going stark raving mad . Let’s all pray that Hurricane Milton has minimal effect on the Florida coast.

Be careful what you wish for. Whether Trump or Kamala win, there will be upheaval in the land by their supporters and misfits who have their ulterior motives. That's how far American has been polarised.

Be careful what you wish for. Whether Trump or Kamala win, there will be upheaval in the land by their supporters and misfits who have their ulterior motives. That's how far American has been polarised. I agree, it is inevitable.. and it started with Obama. But at some point we have to put a stop to it. And the only way to fix it is for Trump to win, get this country back on the right track and eventually the moderate democrats will realize they are better off under aTrump administration than under the Biden or Harris administration. Once that happens the far left will have to join the moderate dems. |
