I don't know if it's really considered "horror" but the original "The Hitcher" with Rutger Hauer scares the hell out of me. I can't watch it alone bigsmile

The Japanese originals of The Ring (all three), The Grudge (1 & 2) and Dark Water are masterpieces of creepy, unnerving horror if you don't mind subtitles.
Hollywood runis good Japanese films grumble

the grudge was pretty bad for my son ..he still leaves the room if its on.
I think The Shinning was scary in its day..but the worse scare I ever had was when I watched Blair Witch project all by myself one night...I slept with all the lights on laugh

The first Night of the Living Dead gave me the "best" scare, cause theres a zombie attack in the first minute of the movie. Theres just some woman at a grave, and "boom" theres a zombie and as a 10 year old that made me shizzt my pants. No other movie made me jump as much as that one scene did.laugh
