Hmm.... It's a tough one; I'm usually disappointed in most horror movies. As a classic, I'd have to say "The Shining."

House of 1000 corpse scared me but then I saw it at 3 am and the house was pitch black. Think it freaked me out more then scared me. Had to watch happy TV after seeing it laugh

I saw all the saw movies. They are all mind ****s

Swear the writers are morbid and probably spent eons looking at old torture books to get ideas. And the fact the props department can make them noway

John Carpenter's "The Thing" is my favorite horror movie. This movie played on so many different fears, it's simply a classic of the genre.

I don't think the SAW movies are scary, just sick. The Shinning is a classic.

there is one and only one true horror film that makes every other pale in comparision, but i see that no one has mentioned it yet..

THE EXCORSIST!!.
WHEN IT CAME OUT IN'73,IT BROKE ALL records.
there was even people actually leaving the theater because of the effects that it had on some of them.

and this is really true..the catholic church even had an abundence of people going to thier family priests and saying that thier loved ones were possessed.and of course ther weren't it was all in thier minds.

no other movie of the gendra has ever moved people in such a way.
this is the true art of horror making.

then of course you git the usual blood and guts like saw, friday the 13th.when it first came out.

im sure that some of you agree that excorsist was kick ass
