Topic: Forum Font changed? | |

Is it me or has the forum font changed? It seems thinner and smaller and just different?
Γnd more difficult to read. I checked my settings but it's not something I can change myself. |

Yes it has changed for me too. Font is smaller and very faint for me now and Iβm struggling to read posts. I, too, checked to see if I could change it but I canβt.
Edit - I changed the font size in Settings on my device but Mingle2 does not support Dynamic Type. |

Ah, you too, thank goodness! I have big problems reading text now as well.
Too thin, too small. I always have Chrome set on 125% which is comfy, now I have to set it to 150% for Mingle posts, but then header text is too big and page width too wide. I didn't see any font setting btw, but if there is one and it doesn't work... I hope this is taken up by the ones that manage this site as now it's just tiring to use the forums If anyone reads this, PLEASE change it back to the way it was!!! |

The font size and style is about the only thing that hasn't changed for me I've been having site issues for weeks

Same here. The font looks nicer, but is much smaller

yup ! I too have noticed the change in style and font .... which is making it difficult to read or post in the forums... hopefully this is some sort of experiment and things return to no soon !!!

I agree with all of you . Here The Same . Let me pinpoint that many will struggle to read the Post . The other Modifications are quite OK , though... I think The previous set up was the best for all those who are active here . I thank Crystal for putting up the Thread . I think may be MINGLE2 is experimenting something and in the near future , I am sure the previous settings will be back in form again. |

So it seems most have this too and have a problem reading now.
Indeed it is prettier, but if you can't read it properly it's pretty useless If they want prettier they can also choose a font that is both pretty and readable. Let's hope it goes back to the way it was! |

It is too small for me and makes it harder to read.. I have sent Keith a message on this..
They need to put it back to where it was.. |

I noticed last night.
I don't find it hard to read and it does look cleaner to mer but the lists are not centered (I always use Firefox at 150%) on the page. But, the offset only loses view at the end border line (the text is still visible). Firefox has what is called "Reader View" in its view menu. Not sure if other browsers have this? In reader view, the pages are large print but centered with limited cascading style. All the elements are there except editing controls. The keyboard shortcut is F9 in firefox. Would be great for reading the forums and the threads but not for posting replies. Reader view looks even cleaner. I don't really use the dating/searching side of M2 so I don't know of any issues there. M2 forum software is stripped and bare compared to most forums & bulletin board software. Its all very, very limited anyway. I think NextC LLC wants it this way. Still, with such a stripped and watered down interface, they have way too many glitches and problems with their software. |

Noticed it and used my display controls of my OS...setting it higher produced a more readable result; however, it also means more scrolling to see the same amount of content that I could before the change...sigh...as usual, no change is without consequences whether intended or "OH SHIFT!"

Would like to add my dislike to this new font style. I had mine set to 150% and now even with 150% it is too small. If I enlarge it to 170% it is ok but I have to scroll to the right to see everything. Why fix it if it was not broken?

I guess it changed back.

I love the font change i think it should stay. I find it a more elegant, sophisticated style.
Not really I just feel like being contrary!! |

If I enlarge it to 170% it is OK but I have to scroll to the right to see everything. Why fix it if it was not broken? LOL, they 'fix' this but ignore the posting and loading issues which only happen here. Most forums have what is called a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface. It offers buttons for BBcode mark-up and style changes for the text. Many offer embedded youtube video links where the youtube video plays in the page. Like I said, this forum is bare basic and I think they want it this way. But, any forum coding stabilizes the pages. The problems experienced here seem to be directly related to the fact this forum is bare basic without an established forum interface code. In my opinion, somebody at NextC LLC has no idea what they are doing. They seem to be shooting themselves in the foot. Any established forum software would certainly be better that what they offer here. Also, My free forum is stable and dependable with its software. It need no tweaking or maintenance besides the occasional back-up. Changing the font is NOT going to fix the issues we experience in this forum. |

Yup, sucks big time. Too wide for my screen unless I shrink it down to where I can't even read it.
