Topic: What r u thinking about right now?? - part 77 | |
---|---|
The last tetanus shot I got was about 12 years ago when I cut my finger on the lid of a can that I was opening. I had to get 3 stitches on my finger. I think they were being overly cautious. i cut my palm while slicing a pineapple the other day , and then yesterday I cut two fingers on a saw blade that did not stop fast enough for me.... all accidents .... luckily not major ... but definitely tetanus shot worthy .... Off late I've had a lot of small incidents myself, really odd. Like stubbing my toe against the cat tree, noticing the day after that toe was blue and purple :o 4-5 splinters while I hardly ever get that, one was in my foot. And more of that kind of stuff. I've been dropping a lot of things too of late. In any case, you wouldn't have to go in every month. One shot should tide you over for 10 years. |

But when it comes to tetanus shots , I dont fool around ... I had one friend who died , after getting lockjaw and all , and a second friend had to amputate his leg knee down ...that still haunts me till today ..... Yup better to be safe than sorry !! |

But when it comes to tetanus shots , I dont fool around ... As a young child my parents knew an elderly lady that we sometimes visited. She'd had lockjaw when younger. She survived obviously, but the jaw remained. Go figure having to live that way as it has a lot of consequences. Socially of course, but also eating, your teeth, your neck and so on. I think I've also had a shot approx. every 10 yrs because of some kind of wound. Not necessarily big wounds, but from a potentially dirty something is enough, right!? I should be good until mid 60s now, haha. As for the mishaps... not sure it's age related. My cleaning lady is 40-41 and she has the same thing at the mo. She told me that when she nearly dropped a bucket and I was like, "Wot?! Me too!!" Seems more like a 'hurt yourself' virus going round, haha. |

Your fuel is cheaper than mine. Iβm paying $2.15 per litre I'd also be VERY happy if I could get petrol for $1,90 a litre! We currently pay $2,18 a litre! And that's AFTER they deliberately lowered it a wee bit. Before that it was $2,47 a litre. |
