Are humans creative or destructive?
Which way do you lean?
Choose one, not both.

Creative! Even in their destructiveness, they are still creative.

The history of civilizations would have us "destructive", but Darwin would call the results of that destruction "creative", where in theory, we'd learn from the past.

Let us hope so.

I’m going to assume by ‘creative’, you mean the root of the word, as in ‘create’. In that regard, I would say we are more destructive. Look at the world around us, our ecosystem decline, forests vanishing at 80,000 acres a day, the declining wildlife populations, BEES!, I mean it’s everywhere. Human population has had a devastatingly destructive affect. As far as human traits, we lie, steal, cheat, bully, have bad habits, we stress out, all destructive. Do these outweigh the good, giving, kind, paying it forward, I truly like to think so, I just don’t know.

But, we do procreate, which is one miracle that has made it all worth it to me. That, and crocheting a blanket every now and then.

Very, very well observed!

The two are mostly interrelated .. but I choose destructive .

The development of Nuclear weapons intended for mass destruction is testimony to how dangerous the creative human mind can be .

I wonder if Hitler thought his solution to eradicate the Jewish people was creative . We all know the hateful and abhorrent outcome .
To use the words of psychologist George Miller “the most urgent problems of our world today are the problems we have made for ourselves.

Are humans creative or destructive?

Human history is full of creativity. Invention and innovation is part of that creativity. However, humans also use invention and innovation to destroy.
The fact human civilization still exists is proof humans create more than they destroy.
There's also the condition of 'relative to the observer'.
Relative to humans, we create.
Relative to nature, we tend to destroy.
The very act of industrialization benefits humans but often hurts nature.

Which way do you lean?
Choose one, not both.

Personally, I've lived both sides of that coin.
I was very destructive when I was immature but maturity caused me to become creative.
Now, I am neither.
I like things which stay the same.
I neither destroy nor create.

The Bible actually refers to us as inventors of evil -though we can also invent good things.
Our main problem is competition over resources, etc., rather than cooperation in making sure all have enough.
When we go about killing each other over resources, etc., technological advancement is accelerated in an effort to most efficiently and effectively kill the competition -but with cooperation there really is no rush except when there is necessity.
We do not need technology for its own sake. We need it for ours -and we need to be happy.
We do not need war and technology which makes us -as Bob Dylan sang -"fear to bring children into the world"

As Caretakers of Creation, we have failed.

gonna get a whoopin' too -at least the big baddies of that day :p

"And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come, and the time of the dead, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth."

A cookie cutter view of humanity
is loopy AF.

Not everyone is creative.
No matter how hard they try.

Not everyone is destructive.
No matter how hard they try.

Nightingales would be an example of true good,
in that they're willing to do what it takes
to help others.

On the opposite end of the spectrum...
Bunny boilers would be the example of true evil..
Lie, cheat, steal, and willing to destroy innocents,
all for whatever pittance they can get out of it.
