because people move on fast before they can heal.also not knowing your worth make one find fake or imitation love. yes am here to find love but trust me am not desperate to do it at any cost.

There is a broad meaning,lets say types or kinds of love and i assume we are talking about the love between a man and woman.Unless you are a pet or a toddler...the rest of us have to earn this kind of love. According to my ongoing research, on this part of the world where i live,a good number of men are capable of truly loving a woman, as for a woman truly loving a man...ofcourse she has to find you attractive but you must come with the set of conditions she wants or looking for. In a relationship between a man and woman,I can say 10% of women can truly love. Otherwise many are just hopeful that they will ever find true love. There is a 10% chance though :)

Because alot of people can be to self absorbed

I think it's because so many people are damaged. They've either been badly hurt before (in childhood or in romantic relationships), have problems with drugs/alcohol, are codependent, or may even have mental issues. Hurt people hurt people. And it's difficult to have a healthy relationship with them.

Also, most of us don't take enough responsibility for our contributions to failed relationships. How often do we take inventory of our own shortcomings and try to work on ourselves?

True love needs two person to put hardwork and grow together. Face the reality, it's not fairytale. I think sometimes need luck to find a right person, at right time.

So many people feel they can't be themselves at the start.

Its not that true love is hard to find.. maybe maturity, understanding, and commitment from a person is hard to gain. no one's perfect indeed and sincere acceptance is the missing part

True love has no reason for loving, no logic, just a shot with cupid's arrow. Then you know that you are IT. We live in an unceratain world and everyone wants gaurantees, so before we find true love, we reason and find convenience in love. Partnering up for all the wrong reasons, instead of waiting for the love that soars way above the clouds, in a fear that the drop down will be too far. So we blame love itself for the lack of love, through choices of our own.
