Is there a valid reason people of different religions cannot coexist peacefully .. It happens in other parts of the Middle East .and the wider global environment . War is a poor solution .

Interesting thing is... if we Western countries would do what 1 country is doing over there all hell would break lose.
We have to adept, accept, integrate whomever knocks at our doors, regardless of their religion and culture, whether they fit in or not, whether they want to fit in or not. Yet some countries in that area take the right to do whatever the hell they want to do, refuse whatever and whomever they choose, without giving it a second thought.
At the same time they still enjoy all kinds of benefits from us, the Western world. And we put up with it too.
If we do what they do we'll get cut off from those benefits and get the whole damned world over us.
They've granted themselves way more rights, and we just bow and nod.

I agree it is wrong. We in the West should be able to have more say about who and what gets let into our countries. Too many immigrants move their cultures and countries within our borders.

I get particularly tired when I see immigrants protesting in our countries abou something that is happening in their former homelands. If they are that concerned they should have stayed and fought it over there.

I do wonder when we will see civil war between certain groups break out because although they live in our countries their hearts belong elsewhere.

How long exactly?

The scrolls that became the bible were written by plural people over a period of approx. 1000 yrs a long long time ago.
Then a bunch of men decided what they'd put in the bible -in other words: what served them- and what to leave out.

Maybe some wish to study that, I got other things that are more important to read.

Then there's different versions, translations into other languages, and like with ANY book, stuff gets altered and lost in translation. Trust me, I've been a translator, it's damned difficult and sometimes you have to deviate.

Just read this for the hell of it...

A young monk arrives at the monastery.
He is assigned to helping the other monks in copying the old canons and laws of the church by hand. He notices, however, that all of the monks are copying from copies, not from the original manuscript.
So, the new monk goes to the head abbot to question this, pointing out that if someone made even a small error in the first copy, it would never be picked up! In fact, that error would be continued in all of the subsequent copies.
The head monk, says, 'We have been copying from the copies for centuries, but you make a good point, my son.' He goes down into the dark caves underneath the monastery where the original manuscripts are held as archives in a locked vault that hasn't been opened for hundreds of years.

Well... I didn't read the Koran, and aren't going to either.
But it was channelled by Muhammed himself, all from God via AA Gabriel. I seriously doubt God or the AA Gabriel would've ordered him to murder and rape and whatnot.
Also, it seems odd the Qu'ran would order Muhammed to do that as he was channelling it -and having it written down- during his life. It's not like it was already there. He is the founder of the Islam with his (first) wife.

And as for the 700 people of the Qurayza tribe... they'd made a pact with the Arabs and violated this. That's why they got besieged and ultimately killed. Quite normal practise in those days.
We may see it as barbaric now, but it was done by all cultures and religions, incl. Christians and prolly Jews too.
