Dont look at it as starting over or you will have in mind what happened in the past, that will lead to fearful thoughts of repeating the failed relationship. Let me rephrase that. It wasn't a failed relationship it was a learning and growing experience. Learn from the bad do what you can to fix that part within yourself and carry the good forward and build on it. unless you plan on going thru it again with that same person Let it ALL go and look at the next one as starting NEW!
Just a thought! |

You change through your experiences and every new contact/ relationship is a total different journey. Don't force anything and just enjoy it for what it is.
With some people you'll get closer and with some not .... which is completely normal. |

At 19 it may hurt but it is indeed nowhere near getting out of a long term relationship.
I found the first time leaving a long term the hardest. I really had to find myself again as an individual, a woman, separate from husband and marriage. And figure out how the heck you did that dating and flirting, haha. The 2nd time it hit me when I realised after my 1st date that I'd have to start from scratch, would have to explain things, and would have to get to know one another. After the familiarity and knowing each other so well after 10 yrs, that wasn't easy. Admittedly, I was not ready to go dating at all. When you ARE ready it can be fun, an adventure, a new chapter or new book opening up for you. |

Difficulty in starting over indicates you still have a connection to them.
Difficulty after having your trust violated can cause a 'fear of trusting'. Trust is vital in a meaningful relationship. One thing which helped me was realizing my difficulty was due to the fact she still held power over me. I took back my power and starting over became easier. Most of the time old relationships are not ALL bad, not ALL good. You are the person you are right now because of the experiences, both good and bad, which give you wisdom. Use the wisdom you have gained to prevent you from making the same mistakes of younger, less-wise decisions. If we do not head the lessons we are taught, we are doomed to repeat our mistakes. Use this opportunity to hone your relationship skills so you can find the right person for you. In doing so, you become a better person for them as well. We all choose our path in life. Sometimes we choose poorly, sometimes we choose wisely. When a choice comes available we all choose something, even when it is a choice not to choose. Try to make it a point to Choose Wisely. Also, try to remember there is no requirement to be in a relationship with anyone until you decide its the time for it. This is also a choice. In my opinion, focus on getting control of your own 'you' before you decide to share it with someone else. |

Starting over is only hard if u don't want to let go or if u are staying close with ur ex and u constantly see each other, especially when he has moved on and u don't want to get over it
