A question for both ladies and gents...
How easily do you cry?
Can you watch a sad or emotional movie without crying?

I wonder about this as just about anything can move me to tears.
My kids getting on the coach to go on their annual school trip, Sinterklaas (Santa) arriving on his boat, someone telling a beautiful story... or a sad story.
The Lion King and Simba being born, yep, can't watch it without crying. blushing

Beautiful, good things or sad/bad things... I cry or at the very least tear up.
Sometimes it makes me feel very awkward, but I can't help it.

Are there more people who cry or tear up so easily?

laugh laugh laugh Ohh hell, many I'm sure think I'm tough ole boot..

But man when it comes to movies or tv shows they can bring me to tears in a minute...

Much more sentimental than most even know.. another reason I have kept so many items for over 20 years... whoa rofl

Thank goodness I'm not alone in this, hahaha.
So you mean keeping things that mean something to you because of XYZ?
I got that too. I guess it comes with the emotional 'syndrome'? laugh
About once every 5-10 yrs I can clean up and throw things away. But even then, when it's in the bin, or on the pile to be binned... My cleaning spree wears off and I start to doubt again about throwing it all out, haha.
And yes, sometimes I put things back.
Somewhere I still have the red plastic rose that my first boyfriend shot for me on the fair. That's 43 yrs ago. And that won't ever get thrown away, hihi.

Hmfff... no wonder my house is full up

Lmao I still have my first BF ID Card from 6th grade 50 years ago... Have a poster I colored with pencils from when I was 16~~ and well there is so much more than that.. My daughter is 36 now I still have her Barbie Dream House ( But my grand daughters have all got to play with it)~~~ Good thing I have a big storage shed lmao...

The times I have gone through stuff to get rid of things I still managed to keep those things that have a lot of memories with them..

Yes, and such things are worth keeping!
Sometimes I'm in doubt what to do with it. Like my guitar. I cannot play anymore and I've thought of selling it. It's a top quality Yamaha. But I can't, hihi.
Oh well... I do feel these things make enrich life!

Best idea I can give what to do with those things is hanging them up in a room on a wall..

When I repainted my office I dedicated a wall and a half where I have hung things that have a lot of memories like my son's first baseball/football uniform and our plaques we won in events like barrels, that we rode in when we had horses...

I have a covered patio so my son has been hanging his Tonka trucks I saved my daughter's barbie cars a bicycle I had from the 80's lmao and a lot of signs that my son had on the walls and ceiling..

I figure if they see the items enough maybe some of them will mean something to them down the road and they will hang on to them and put them out to look at..

Yes, so?
I possess strong empathy.

Plus, with the harsh reality of my life I am able to connect with the pain and sadness even when it is fictional.

Its not only my empathy tho. Some of my meds cause moodiness and I've been known to tear up just sitting there.

Funny thing, I cried at the Godzilla 2014 film. Get this, when Godzilla walked into the ocean at the end.

I embrace my feelings and 'feel' them. If the embrace causes me to cry, so be it. It doesn't make me any less a man because I don't judge myself on such stereotypical models.

I'm not weepy or sad, I cry in happiness too.

That sounds really cool!
My kids are really picky with what they want themselves. I guess all the keep-sakes with memories are more important to mothers who are overly emotional and can't throw stuff out, haha.

I am some sentimental old git

Tears of joy, when one of my football teams wins an important match, or my parents have good news about their numerous surgeries.

Tears of sadness when somebody in one of my FB cat groups has to send a cat over the rainbow bridge.

And I still can't watch Lassie without crying.

I very rarely cry. I might get a little teary eyed watching some movies, or news, but that's about it.

its pretty much all cultures men do NOT have permission....females prefer men

who keep there emotions in check during rough times....they feel insecure when

a man loses it under stress.....in other words we have be careful, and share

our inner most thoughts and feelings with a female we know really well

and can trust them...on the other hand females have permission to feel there

feelings.....p.s....lastly i know there are a few exceptions.....the sad part

about all this is being able to share are feelings and thoughts is a big part

of real intimacy.....

I think the last time I shed a tear,
was during an old rerun of the sitcom 'Tool Time'...
Or, whatevertheHell it was called.

The episode where a huge steel I-beam got dropped
on an old Chevy Nomad station wagon, and crushed it.

The bastards! rant

Do you Cry / Tear Up Easily?

Oh yes! At good news and bad news. Can’t help myself. They do say β€˜People who are highly emotional are often deeply compassionate and self-awareβ€˜

Yes, I've experienced that it changes a man's emotional state, especially with my last partner. The way he reacted was beautiful, and immediately closed the gap that the reason of crying had caused between us.

Sometimes it's a good thing to be alone isn't it?! It always make me a li'l awkward when I tear up or cry when someone's around.
For instance, I also teared up when my daughter showed me these veterans & healthcare workers protecting protesters.
The beauty of that moved me deeply. And then I'm sat there with watery eyes, and she sees that... awkward... hihi.

Thanks everyone! Interesting to read that, regardless of gender, some do and other don't cry easily.

It's good to know I'm not the only one cos at times I do feel awkward about it.
