short term study, suggests the vaccine still weakens out and suggests continued boosters would be necessary at least every 6 months, (if not sooner).
it will be interesting to watch how it bares out as the study continues.

lets hope this holds out for those at high risk. and it dont start dropping off after the second or third month.

the red cross is in desperate need of non vaxxed people to donate blood.

A now-archived document from the American Red Cross explains that anyone who takes “any type of COVID vaccine” is “not eligible to donate convalescent plasma” because of the serious risks involved

instead of reading propaganda and only telling part of the story suggest you read from the Red Cross site ...

There are claims circulating that incorrectly state that the Red Cross will not accept convalescent plasma donations from those who have received the COVID-19 vaccine because “the vaccine wipes out those antibodies making the convalescent plasma ineffective in treating other COVID-19 patients.” This is not accurate.
Due to the decline in hospital demand and because the Red Cross and our industry partners have been able to build a sufficient supply of convalescent plasma to meet the foreseeable needs of COVID-19 patients the Red Cross stopped collecting convalescent plasma completely on June 14.

context is important .. The collection of blood either from those who have had covid , or who have been vaccinated , is in most cases being collected for antibodies and immunity cells as a potential “treatment therapy” for covid , or research purposes. .

yes context is important. but the "context" is what they are specifically asking for is it not?? and what they are asking for is non vaxed donations from people who have had covid 19.

from their web site posted last year this time, that might explain the PSA's now:

In August, the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for convalescent plasma as a treatment for COVID-19. To be eligible to donate convalescent plasma, the donor must have a prior, verified diagnosis of COVID-19, be symptom free, be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 lbs. Additional weight requirements apply for donors age 18 or younger.

Red Cross have already collected convalescent plasma from people who were vaccinated (with non live virus vaccines) if they feel they have a sufficient supply at the moment that is the organisation’s call . Red Cross information is clear about what they require and why .

Why would you promote data from the citizens propaganda site , rather than what Red Cross themselves advise ??

I have no issues with them asking for blood from vaccinated individuals or from people with naturally acquired immunity .. there are differences between the two .

Red cross’s reason for declining blood from vaccinated individuals (at the moment) is not a statement about vaccinated blood being unacceptable . They clearly are collecting supplies of both .. just at different times . The use of Convalescent plasma , as a treatment for covid , is not a standard treatment and there is not yet enough scientific evidence about the efficacy ..

I posted the first link, because I was searching for why the red cross IS requesting for non vax donors. and that link came up first in my search.

my purpose was to let people know that the red cross is currently looking for non vaxed donors, who have had covid 19 , which was what I lead off with.

the second link I posted at that time. also talked about them wanting non vax convalescent donors.

the R C PSA's are in prep for the up coming virus season. this is along with other medical announcements such as:
reminders for flu shots and warnings of bacterial lung infections and getting covid booster shots.

the third link posted later, was from the red cross's own website. and it was posted months after people started getting vaccinated. so they must have had a reason for saying what I quoted THEM saying. in their request. both back then, and currently.

it is what THEY posted, and what THEY are currently asking for in their PSA's.

usually, they start making such requests for blood, when they expect an up coming disaster where blood supplies may drop off rapidly.

and you your self have shown links stating that major out breaks are expected this up coming virus season.

This was your post ...

the red cross is in desperate need of non vaxxed people to donate blood.

A now-archived document from the American Red Cross explains that anyone who takes “ANY type of COVID vaccine” is “NOT eligible to donate convalescent plasma” because of the SERIOUS RISKS involved .

Absolute misinformation !!!!!

This is from Red Cross website ...

Throughout the pandemic, the American Red Cross has adapted its collection of lifesaving blood products to meet the needs of all patients—including those battling COVID-19. Currently, our primary efforts are the prioritized expansion of red blood cell and platelet collections to meet surging hospital demand and have discontinued our convalescent plasma program. We will continue to monitor the situation in the context of emerging information, evolution of the pandemic and hospital demand to determine if we should resume our convalescent plasma program in the future.

The Red Cross is grateful to the tens of thousands of convalescent plasma donors who rolled up their sleeves to share their health and provide hope to patients and their families during an uncertain time.

Eligibility for giving blood ....

If you’ve received a COVID-19 vaccine, you’ll need to provide the manufacturer name when you come to donate. In most cases, there is no deferral time for individuals who received a COVID-19 vaccine as long as they are symptom-free and feeling well at the time of donation.

The following eligibility guidelines apply to each COVID-19 vaccine received, including boosters: There is no deferral time for eligible blood donors who are vaccinated with a non-replicating inactivated or RNA-based COVID-19 vaccine manufactured by AstraZeneca, Janssen/J&J, Moderna, Novavax, or Pfizer.
Eligible blood donors who received a live attenuated COVID-19 vaccine or do not know what type of COVID-19 vaccine they received must wait two weeks before giving blood.

blonde: what I wrote was this:
the red cross is in desperate need of non vaxxed people to donate blood.

what I quoted was 2 links: with an excerpt from one of them.
if you read the first link. you would have read those exact words with it. they were not mine.
I have since explained the reason I posted the information, as you requested me to do so.
and now I'll repeat my self.
I wanted to know why the red cross was asking for non vaxed donors who had all ready had covid again.
and that link was the first that popped up.
you called it propaganda. and I asked you why would they be asking for the non vaxed blood, if it was propaganda.

I found a possible answer my self after doing what you suggested.. reading the red cross web site. and I shared their link. with an excerpt from their own posting.
with them explaining why they would need it.

What is convalescent plasma: Convalescent plasma is plasma that contains high levels of specific antibodies that might help fight that infection – in this case, COVID-19 antibodies. Historically, convalescent plasma has been used as a potentially lifesaving treatment in some situations when new diseases or infections develop quickly, and no treatments or vaccines were available yet. Recent scientific evidence has shown that COVID-19 convalescent plasma with high levels of antibodies, that is administered to hospitalized patients early in the disease course, can have some clinical benefit. Convalescent plasma continues to be an important component of the toolbox , particularly for the right patient population including immunosuppressed patients, to fight this pandemic.

that is good news, now that they are gaining more knowledge of the genetics of covid 19. hopefully this will lead to better more effective vaccines, with fewer side effects, as well as medicinal treatments.

A really good article worth a read.

Covid vaccine ‘waning immunity’: How worried should I be?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-59260294

"There have been warnings from doctors and the UK's Health Security Agency that waning immunity is leading to deaths even of people who have had two doses of a Covid vaccine. So how much protection are we left with?

Let's nail some basics. The immune system has two big roles - to stop us getting infected, and if that fails, to clear our bodies of an infection."
