I grew up in the 70s and 80s. Fantastic times for Metal.
My first major gig was in 1986. Exodus/Venom/Slayer |

Sure I get that itch. Check this out. Kind of early. I think the album came out in 1980 but the band rocked all the way through the 80s. Interesting video but a pretty sexy song to me. Would be a great song for the bride and groom wedding dance.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1IaULuezzQ

Still implies that I loved it at one time. Never liked 80's metal or much other 80's music. As far as I was concerned, Nirvana was the best thing to happen to rock since the late 70's and I wasn't even a Nirvana fan...

I love Bruce Dickinson voice (Iron Maiden of course), Metallica and more, but to be honest I did not know them in the 80's or rather I had other taste. Among recent groups I love Greta Van Fleet, maybe because my knowledge of Led Zeppelin was at the time limited

Zebra, Axe, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer, Sabbath, The Gods, Diamond Head, Krokus, Kix, Flotsam and Jetsam, Rush, Metallica, Molly Hatchet, Mother's Finest, Kiss, Loudness, early Lizzy Borden, Thin Lizzy, Yngwie Malmsteen, Metal Church, Motorhead, Motley Crue, Nazareth, Ozzy, Pantera, Queensryche, Ratt, Ac/Dc, Poison, Saxon, Rainbow, Ritchie Blackmore, Sammy Hagar, Scorpions, Steelheart, Stone Fury, Twisted Sister, UFO, Tygers of Pan Tang, W.A.S.P., Winger... I've probably forgotten twice this many.
Many of these bands were popular because they did a mix of hard rock and metal. If you're interested in meatal you should check out True Metal's Metal Wallpapers. The cover art brings back many fond memories. http://truemetal.org/metalwallpaper/ |

I like the classic rock of the 80's.

I’ve always been big into metal, but I got sidetracked in the 80’s with grunge.

Metal was okay.
I was more into the Blues and punk music scenes. |

Agreed, Like I said, the list of bands were off the top of my head. There's others too. My first Blackfoot album was No Reservations. I also liked the band Spirit who did I Got A Line On You. Blackfoot did a cover of it on Strikes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g86522nb28 Thee's also a bunch of heavy blues guitarists who do some pretty intense songs. Nils Lofgren, Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher to name a few. |

Yup, so they were active in the 80s. They were still actively getting radio play in Cleveland, OH. The home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. WMMS The Buzzard was primarily a hard rock/metal radio station. Rock 101 was 'coined' the Disco Destroyer too. Rock 101 had its funding pulled in the early 80s because it would not conform to advertisers pressure to play 'tamer' music. They played hard rock and heavy metal uncut and uncensored. |
