Men lie when they don't want to meet in person.

I chatted with a man online and on my cell phone long time.

Lies lies :grinning:. But I really was into him or it wouldn't have gone on that long.

He's a charmer and loved attention from Women.

Some men don't know how to "Sweet talk" like this man!:joy:

Then I've had several men I met, in person, Who never lied before meeting up.

No one was off mingle2.

Some people are compulsive liars.
They often believe the lies are truth.
My X is a compulsive liar.
Her reality is full of delusions.

Lies are usually fear driven.
They can, however have many different motives unique to the individual.
Lies are used to hide or misdirect reality.

People lie to themselves a lot.
Assumptions, delusions, wilful ignorance and vindictiveness are merely a few examples.

These apps are as anonymous as the person that wants to make the profile wants to be. Lies on mingle2, I think has a sole purpose of misleading intent - whether it be in what they are looking for in a relationship, or seeing your intent and thinking they can change your mind, "if she just gets to know me"

Pure selfishness is the easy answer

Not sure if the why really matters...
Isn't the 'how to avoid it' more important?
I found out long time ago that it matters a lot which dating site you're one. Some have more idiots and w@nkers on them than others. A matter of finding out which one is okay.
It can also help to go on a paid-for dating site. Doesn't totally exclude the players, but most won't want to pay.

At some point the lies become known .. and usually result in massive disappointment .

Understanding they why of any question, allows a person to figure out the how. What may work for you, may not work for someone else in a similar situation. Figuring out the why can custom build a solution

Because lying is culturally acceptable. Many people don't want to know the truth anyway.
I tell people up front what I'm not looking for. Take it or leave it. Lying is not worth it most of the time. smile2
