Topic: Social media & Men and Women | |
---|---|
I'm looking for insight, hence my questions.
What social media do you tend to use? Or your friends? I regularly write on my Wordpress but I'm beginning to notice it's mostly men that react? So I'm wondering, are women not on Wordpress so much? Then where are they? On Twitter? Instagram? Facebook? Something else? I do have Twitter but personally don't like it so much. It's not really popular with Dutch ppl. But I think many US women are on it? Or am I wrong? Do women prefer Insta more? Because I think there's fewer men on there? |

I have Whatsapp, which I rarely use, because they keys on my mobile are too small. FB and Insta also, most likely for ranting about politics and chatting with other cat enthusiasts. Story is, most of my contacts are fellow Germans and meeting in person was always a bit difficult.

I have WhatsApp installed on my PC :) Sorts the problem. Same with Insta. If you got them on your phone you can also install them on the PC. |

I have all on my tablet, except Whatsapp. The pairing process drives me mad Never really use my mobile anyway |

I don't do any of it Crystal, no anti social media for me. I do understand that I'm a dinosaur. My daughter spends too much time on that crap to the point where it disrupts her sleep etc. It's a real problem for her mother and her man. If she lived with me I'm afraid I would have lost it on this topic a long time ago.......................

Not alone there, I refuse to use any, so much so that I only have a basic mibile phone....just text and the occasional call for me. Don't see the point in much of the social media stuff. If I want to know something (which I rarely do), I ask.

Greetings Crystal!
Wish I could help, but I have no social footprint at all, as I was told by a friend recently. I think its more peaceful this way. Plus the people I care about have my contact info and we email or call each other. Guess I'm the last of the Boomersaurs! |

Personally my social media is limited to discussion forums now.
I was on Facebook and years ago I frequented many online chatrooms & usenet. I had a short spell on Pinterest. My kids are mainly on Facebook but not addicted to it. They also had MySpace pages during school. I think Google Plus was pretty popular for awhile but I think they shut that down or are getting ready to. I know you do your videos and have followers. You are probably looking for a way to add traffic to your site. There are some ways you can get it out there. I'm personally not too keen on most social media. I do not have a personal Twitter, Insta, Wordpress account going either. I can't be bothered, hihi. But I'm asking for my books. My publisher does what it can of course, but if I can promote it, attract interest myself, it'd be great too. |

Unfortunately it seems to come with the territory these days. I hope she'll outgrow it. You often see this change once they get a bit more grownup. |

Tom, that is AMAZING info! Thank you so much!
I didn't even know you had review sites. I will check that out for sure. And I'm indeed not asking for me personally but for me as an author. My publisher does its fair share to promote my book and push it, but of course if I too can promote it and help it sell it'll help greatly. And then I'm stuck with, where?!? But I'll check out review sites and the others you posted. Really happy with the suggestions! |
