Hi, to all M2 members. COVID 19 will soon subside, will become less intense, less violence, and less severe just like ebola. Please stay at home and free your thoughts from the crisis. |

It's totally odd that our biggest cities The Hague, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, don't have many cases. In the south it is bad, has been from the start. The 2 larger cities there do have more cases.
But the really odd thing... the island above me is also dark red, like some other areas further east. How the freck that can happen? Population on these islands & peninsulas isn't that high, so clearly that has little to do with it? Otherwise the cities would be bad too. I hope my island doesn't get what they got, as it is we have 29,3 cases. And I'm SO glad that as of tomorrow 12.00 NO tourist can spend the night here anymore. They will go over all holiday areas and campings to check this, and fines can be given. Was about bloody time they did this as people just keep coming here, selfish b@$t@rds. We have only 1 small hospital on the island down, and an even smaller one on this island which is really more a clinic for bloodtest and X-rays etc. We do not have the hospital capacity for many cases here. |

India Update If at all a disaster was to be expected in this part of the world, it would begin with Bangladesh - general opinion because of pop density. In reality, Bangladesh is doing quite well, The virus so far has claimed five lives How? They called in the troops. Bangladesh A defence ministry spokesman, meanwhile, said that some 3,000 military personnel and 400 Navy troopers were deployed across the country mainly to enforce “social distancing” while the Air Force was kept ready for ferrying men and medical aid to any part of Bangladesh. He said that the new batches of troops will replace periodically the personnel already deployed on the COVID-19 duty while the previous ones would be quarantined on return to their barracks for safety. India is under lock down beginning last Sunday 22 March. All factories / workshops / businesses / banks / trains / planes / temples closed No vehicles on road either. Curfew on till April 14 What happens after April 14 - no idea |

I was watching local NEWS at one of the TV station websites and there was a video of a newscast which was about how a local supermarket has a new stock of toilet paper. They were so proud!

There were active construction crews working on a parking lot and there was only one person waiting in the waiting room. The dr did NOT ask me questions about covid19 and did not offer me a flu shot like every other time I see him. My next appt is in 6 months. During the trip to the VA I noticed casinos and bars are closed but the beaches are full. There were lots of people about but no big herds, traffic was normal. |

Lol jaish .. I saw your post and was going to respond here . Are you trying to start a suds war Hope all is well in India Hi Blondey, It'S all over the net, the power of the simple soap bubble But post was inspired by NZ publication - your neighborhood and in it they quote an Australian doctor https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/health/coronavirus/120148084/coronavirus-heres-the-science-of-why-soap-and-water-is-better-than-hand-sanitiser At its most basic, soap works so well on coronavirus, and on many other viruses, because it dissolves the lipid (fatty) protective coat around the virus. Another thing soap molecules do is compete with other bonds that help a virus stick together. "The soap is effectively 'dissolving' the glue that holds the virus together," Thordarson said. "The soap also outcompetes the interactions between the virus and the skin surface. Soon the viruses get detached and fall apart like a house of cards due to the combined action of the soap and water. The virus is gone!" Thordarson also explains why the virus is less inclined to stick to flatter surfaces, such as steel, porcelain and at least some plastics. In contrast, skin is an "ideal" surface for a virus. What I liked about the picture was the RNA string and no DNA a small step in my education. ha ha |

Corona virus is great. I need time off work to get my boat and motorbike ready for easter, so I told the boss I'm self isolating till after easter, then I'll come back to work. He couldn't refuse.
Yeehaa! And if the killjoys cancel easter, I'll have a good time anyway at home, working on boat, bikes, digitising music, private shooting range, art, so much to do. It seems all corona deaths are by people with pre-existing serious health complications, and not your average joe and josie public. Unless you are already at risk, you are not at risk. Only 19 deaths in australia so far total, and you can't even sit alone in a park or at the beach. The cops will move you on. Meanwhile probably over 100 people died of pneumonia and flu and asthma attack, with not a mention, not a closure of anything, just business as usual. It still doesn't add up, and I'm still sus as to the real reason for world wide 'government' sponsored terrorism. |

Just had a walk down to my Doctor's Surgery, combining my permitted exercise with a necessary journey.
It's still feeling odd out there, like an extended Sunday Very few people about on foot in small family groups, about half the traffic you'd expect (but what there is, is often travelling too fast). Most shops closed and the Surgery with just one person taking prescriptions and otherwise closed. |

Biggest difference is the supermarket's car park not being full up with German cars and it not being so busy inside. People must take a trolley as then you automatically have 1,5m distance. At the drugstore & goody store they have taped 1,5m distance from the counters and they have plexiglass protection shield over the registers. What's odd is having to keep that distance, including in the supermarket. But people are cooperating, and nicely keeping the distance or creating it. It was actually quite nice to be out on my bike again :) |

They were only letting people in when someone else came out and you had to come a set distance apart when you were waiting to get in and at the checkouts. Not really keeping a distance when they were shopping though and the employees outnumbered the customers. |

Not really keeping a distance when they were shopping though and the employees outnumbered the customers. As it is they do not have someone at the door to allow people in here. In more densely populated areas they have to, it depends on the size of the shop. There aren't so many people inside that there is a need to put a guard at the door. There was an employee with trolleys indoors (normally outdoors) telling everybody it is mandatory to take one. That is the case nationwide to safeguard the distance and I have to admit, it works! The youngsters who have to refill the shelves are having the most difficult time as they basically have to move aside all the time. |

How are the stocks in your grocery stores?
Were there many empty shelves or coolers? When I went to the store yesterday most of the shelves and coolers were picked clean, hell it looked like the store was going out of business. Are you still getting normally imported items? Around here you are hard-pressed to find anything imported from China and we get a lot of stuff from China. |
