Topic: Dorian Hurricane | |

Sustained windspeeds of 185 miles per hour. Media saying, strongest hurricane to make landfall in the West, since 1935. And, reports of a second hurricane heading toward Mexico. rock Only thing to add is it's slowed to 5 miles per hour, which is bad news for Bahamas. We are all suffering from hurricane news fatigue...a actual thing... looks like another 3-4 days of watching for us |

We are all suffering from hurricane news fatigue...a actual thing... looks like another 3-4 days of watching for us I get the hurricane-fatigue, and still keep watching, especially for you as you're in the cone area. Unreal that it's moving so slow, 5 miles is 8 km, I cycle faster than that. So I could overtake a hurricane on my bike. Now that's weird! At this rate you could've gone on holiday and make it back on time, figure of speech, I don't mean seriously. It takes agonizingly long... I hope you can get a good night's sleep! |

Bahamas are and will continue to be hammered by Dorian for another 24 hours.... continue prayers Not much to report ... Dorian wind speeds have dropped to 165mph still a cat 5.... has basically stalled moving at 1 mile per hour.... horrible news for Bahamas We will be watching waiting to see if Dorian makes the turn north |

Yes, unbelievable it moves so slow... A bit more and it will start to bore holes in the ground. Danged thing is pretty much tracing the island with its eye.
Scary to think the expected storm surges will be up to 23 ft while the highest of the island is 30 ft. I do hope most people did evacuate. And longer waiting time for you guys to find out what it's going to do next... British navy ship is almost there to help out with the aftermath with supplies and aid. They sent it over to that area in June so it'd be there at the start of storm seasons. Now that is jolly wonderful! |

Don't forget Kit, Blanket forts are easy to build and they provide countless hours of fun for adults. You can make your fort with everyday household items like blankets, sheets, chairs, and curtain rods. Start by building a fort frame. Then, close off your fort to the outside world by draping blankets over it. Throw in a few pillows and blankets for added coziness, and youβre ready for Dorian, always room in mine if the storm gets too rough.. |

I've still got 2x4 braces up due to construction been saying I was going to make a fort and put up twinkle lights..... but if your fort is already up save me a bit of effort... deciding factor is what kind of sandwich is your fort serving???? |

They are definitely going to have need. Bahamas has been in the eye for over 12 hours and with the slow movement could possibly be there for another 14-16 hours Average length is around a hour, not positive about this but what I've experienced |

Not much will be left of the Bahamas once Dorian passes hopefully it will turn north soon and give them a break
We're feeling the outer band down here, 200 miles away, that's how huge this storm is. The Keys still appear to be safer than the rest of Florida. I'm still having wifi issues but am able to keep track of it watching the weather channel, thankfully. The biggest concerns down here is that another system will have time to move in with Dorian going so slow and change the direction. |

The biggest concerns down here is that another system will have time to move in with Dorian going so slow and change the direction. They are saying this may permanently change the Bahamas, that some of the smaller islands are completely submerged and may never resurface. Stay safe River we've still got a long wait |
