Thanks it's been a high stress week So happy to see everyone pulling together and being ready... now even though it's not over... Floridians are more worried about Bahamas and how we can get them help❤ I mentioned something about this is another thread. When I was at lunch my boss came in the lunchroom to announce he's collecting things for donations. This is one thing I love about the place I work. Anytime there's a need with the islanders around us the resort and those here are ready to help and find a way to send things over to those in need. I have a bunch of clothing and some food I haven't opened yet... a few things I got in case we got hit, so now I can pass that stuff on to the ones that really need it. That’s really nice, River! There’s going to be a few donation places around here too That's awesome, I imagine most of the US will be reaching out to help |

A woman in the Bahamas rescued almost 100 dogs during the hurricane.

That's awesome Cat, hopefully she'll find their owners

That is her plan, River, to find the owners. Showed pictures in her house filled with dogs, and her house is flooding.

Good evening
I’m about 3 miles from the Atlantic near Daytona Beach. When it’s not raining, you can hear the ocean roar. So far so good. Sneaky |

Geeez I'm glad all we have here are those sneeky tornados at least they move right along and don't stick around.
Be safe all of you in Dorian's path! |

Probably my last update.... on Dorian
Please continue thoughts and prayers for Bahamas. I'm happy to say donations and supplies are rolling in for them...2 cruise lines both donated 1 million dollars. You never know... what happened to the Bahamas was what was originally expected for Florida, a slight change in a couple of high pressure systems and a shift of100 miles and we was saved from the worst. Damage to the coast lines, some power outages, some clean up from limbs and trees, still much concern on flooding ( we've had 3" since the early am and expected to continue all day. Saddest is the sea turtles had laid their eggs all along the beach and many have been washed out to sea Floridians pulled together and was prepared now of most concern is Bahamas.... the worst being the loss of life they suffered. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers thru this.... anyone wanting to make donations to Bahamas feel free to PM me and I'll try and direct you to the honest charities because yes unfortunately they are already warning about the fakes that are popping up. Thanks to crystal again for making us this thread |

That's great news KitKat about those who are helping. And yes, we were certainly blessed here in Florida.
Thoughts and prayers will continue for those in the Bahamas. |

Thanks to crystal again for making us this thread You're welcome, no need to thank me. I'm glad it came to life beautifully with love and care from so many people!! Happy to hear the donations for the Bahamas are flowing! I'm sure millions will be donated from people worldwide. The sea turtles, ... that is sad! I hope their numbers will recover next year Hope the flooding won't get too much worse, KitKat! Take care, girl! |

Dorian the neverending hurricane Thoughts and prayers for Georgia and the Carolinas Dorian back up to a cat3. Help and supplies are flowing into Bahamas. One man bought 100 generators and is having them sent to Bahamas That's great kitkat. Britain had a naval ship on stand by prior to the storm with essential equipment ready to helicopter in knowing runways would be out of action. |
