Topic: Why do people generalize that all male are the same and all | |
---|---|
I dont understand it. All males are generalized like men are like this and that. Likewise to the ladies. As far as i know, everybody is different in their way of thinking. Am I missing something here?

Nope.
Irrationality abounds ;-) |

No, you're not missing anything. Like you say, men do the same about women.
All one can do is not participate in that stuff and tell a different story. That way you can inspire others, and at the very least feel better yourself AND stand a much better chance at finding love. |

Yeah. I do feel blessed for not thinking that. I dont know why but people infuriate me when they designate all females as being one and the same in personality, way of thinking and so on. What is alarming to me is that i dont feel quite the same anger as they do to us. Wish i knew why

Whereas when it's about men it's more shrugging it off with a "whatever" as you don't feel personally attacked, knowing you are different. Maybe it's that? |

I never found that

But what i know for sure is that i feel more angered when ladies are generalized more than men are BTW, why dont ppl think like that? I mean why generalize? It might even help in their relationship |

It's just human nature on both sides after a man/woman been through a few bad relationships one after the other they begin to think all are the same and instead of treating the next person they meet differently giving them a chance to prove them self separate and apart from the others they've meet they judge them before they get to prove themselves and treat them with a harsh hand

While we all aren't the same in some ways, we all are not different either. There are common characteristics of each and there is statistical evidence to back that up. When we talk about those characteristics, the term "all" is not appropriate but the terms "many" and "most" may be.

As far as i know, everybody is different in their way of thinking. Not really. Otherwise, society would not have had the same problems for thousands of years. That's why this is one of my favorite quotes from a novel (This one is from "O, Pioneers" by Willa Cather, 1913): βThere are only two or three human stories, and they go on repeating themselves as fiercely as if they had never happened before; like the larks in this country, that have been singing the same five notes over for thousands of years.β |

They have never learned how to develop their social perspective ..

A process which is dependent on dopamine levels ... beliefs can be shaped by culture , environment and lived experience . Thoughts are often an expression of beliefs /values . *** some just lack insight and social skills ., They are incapable of being rationale and accountable for their own faults / beliefs . Pleaser4life, I know what you are saying and I think a lot of people do that, but they also may not see that they are doing that.

Corre me if i am wrong but sometimes i feel that both genders kind of disrespect themselves when they say that. After all you must respect yourself first to be a success in anything, whether work, relationship or social life

Well if a woman called me her big, bad booty daddy then I wouldn't take offense to it.
