Topic: posts in foreign language | |

Foreign is subjective of course, hihi, for me English is foreign, but I do mean languages other than English.
I'm wondering how posts in another language are okay? I've seen it a couple of times now. No one can read that, meaning no one knows what the hell is being said, asked, ordered even. No one can moderate it. I'm kind of bemused to see there's not a rule on this? It's not my forum, I know. But it's weird. |

I agree, it is weird and very annoying!

If Iโm not mistaken Mingle2 is an international dating site so if it isnโt in English then it doesnโt pertain to me.

If the topic/post is unreadable due to language we move it to their country.

Ohhhh, Why not? If someone writes in his own language, he wants to reach people of the same language. There's nothing wrong with it. We all are foreigners somewhere on this planet earth.
It is my choice to say this topic was not for me. Or I copy the text, transfer it to Google Translator to understand. I love to learn from the people in the world. Sometimes I have much more problem with the complicated English level of others. I have to accept and I say, this topic was not for me. My mother language is Deutsch. |

Well, like I said, no one who runs the forum can read it so no one can keep an eye on what is being posted, if it's according to forum rules or whether it is even legal. It means the forum could be used for anything, which I'd think in this day and age is not exactly what you'd want. Hence me asking. |

Nice to see some Germans here. But us Germans have English in school, so there shouldn't be a language barrier.

As Soufiehere has already mentioned above we translate what is being said and move them to the correct forums.. We do not leave threads in the main forums when it is in a different language but instead move it to the Forum of their Country once we have translated it to make sure it is not against the rules~~~ We have done this for years now, not really that hard.. Members report it just as they would anything else.. The site has Not at this time ever said it was not allowed..Mods were told to translate due to it being a International Site instead. If in fact members start posting in the main forums on a thread we normally remove those post and let them know the main forum post should be in English but they are welcome to post in their Country Forums in their own language.. |
