Trump stalks out on Democrats, demands end of investigations

" President Donald Trump abruptly stalked out of a White House meeting with congressional leaders Wednesday, flatly declaring he would no longer work with Democrats unless they drop all investigations in the aftermath of the special counsel’s Trump-Russia report.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called it all “very, very, very strange” and said she was praying for Trump and the nation. Trump tweeted his thanks for her prayers but said he would not proceed down two tracks — investigation and legislation".

http://www.apnews.com/abf4b46fcb07477d9871ad56df45b3ca

I used to think Bush#2 was bad. A clueless idiot. When it comes to idiocy, Bush doesn't even come close to the amount of idiocy Trump shows almost on a daily basis. Common sense says that the Democrats are not going to give up. Not as long as Trump keeps trying to cover up his illegal dealings and obstruction. If Trump really wanted the Democrats to stop, the quickest way to that would be him. For him to give them what they have legally asked for. Stop trying to keep things hidden. Anything crooked will eventually come to light anyway. The more this man-child runs his mouth and tries to stand in the way of justice, The deeper the Democrats are going to dig. And the deeper in shyt he's gonna be.

The Latest: Pelosi says Trump ‘took a pass’

"House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says President Donald Trump “took a pass” on working together with Democrats to address the nation’s crumbling infrastructure.

Pelosi spoke at the Capitol after a brief meeting with Trump at the White House. After the meeting, Trump said he won’t work with Democrats as long as they are moving ahead with investigations of his administration.

Pelosi said congressional Democrats went to the White House “in a spirit of bipartisanship to find common ground” on infrastructure. She told reporters afterward: “For some reason, maybe it was lack of confidence on his part. ... he just took a pass".

House Speaker Pelosi urges Trump family 'intervention' with president

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday that President Donald Trump threw a temper tantrum at a meeting with Democratic congressional leaders a day earlier and that she wished his family or staff would conduct "an intervention" with him for the good of the country.

In a second consecutive day of tough words about Trump by the Democratic speaker of the House of Representatives, Pelosi accused Trump of obstruction of justice, which she said is an impeachable offense".

Another Trump failure.

BEIJING (Reuters) - China said on Thursday it had lodged solemn representations with the United States after it escalated a trade war between the two countries by placing Chinese telecoms equipment maker Huawei Technologies Co Ltd on a blacklist for U.S. suppliers".

"No further trade talks between top Chinese and U.S. negotiators have been scheduled since the last round ended in a stalemate on May 10, the same day U.S. President Donald Trump sharply increased tariffs on $200 billion worth of Chinese goods and took steps to levy duties on all remaining Chinese imports".

Trump relentlessly mocked for ‘nationally televised hissy fit’ over Democratic investigation

"For Stephen Colbert, only “one big story” came out of Wednesday’s news cycle.

“America’s step-daddy is angry,” the late-night host quipped on CBS.

For about 12 minutes on Wednesday morning, anyone tuned into a major TV network saw an irked President Donald Trump in the White House Rose Garden delivering what The Washington Post’s Anne Gearan described as “the live-action movie version” of his Twitter feed.

Or, as Mr Colbert put it: ”Trump walked out the door straight to the Rose Garden for a nationally televised hissy fit".

Angry Trump insists not in a 'rage' over row with Democrats

"Washington (AFP) - An angry President Donald Trump insisted Thursday that he was not in a "rage" when he abruptly canceled a meeting with top Democrats at the White House.

Despite 24 hours of furious tweets and a hastily arranged press event at which he expressed bitterness at Democrats, Trump explained he'd been unflappable Wednesday while blowing up the meeting with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and top Senate Democrat Chuck Schumer".

George Conway mocks Trump on ‘cover-ups’ by tweeting Stormy Daniels payment check

"Prominent Trump critic George Conway on Thursday posted a picture of President Trump’s $35,000 check to his former lawyer Michael Cohen, along with a quote from Trump’s Wednesday press conference: “I don’t do cover-ups.”

Cohen has testified that the check was partial reimbursement for the $130,000 he paid actress Stormy Daniels as hush money to cover up a sexual encounter she says she had with Trump. The money changed hands shortly before the 2016 election and was part of the evidence in Cohen’s plea deal with federal prosecutors that resulted in his prison sentence. Cohen has said he made the payment at Trump’s direction".

It's such as this that makes Trump look like he is off his rocker.

Trump lashes out in televised rant, quizzing room about meeting with 'crazy' Pelosi and insisting he is 'stable genius".

"Donald Trump has lashed out at Nancy Pelosi and Democrats in a rant in which he called the House speaker “crazy” and claimed she “lost it” at a meeting he himself has been criticized over.

Speaking at an event alongside farmers and ranchers, Mr. Trump slammed his democratic rivals before asking his White House staff to reassure him that he was “calm” during a meeting over the infrastructure on Wednesday.

“I’ll tell you what, I’ve been watching her, and I have been watching her for a long period of time, she’s not the same person. She’s lost it,” Mr. Trump said of Ms. Pelosi. “I think she’s got a lot of problems.”

Mr. Trump reportedly left the meeting with Ms. Pelosi and Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer — who he nicknamed as “Cryin’ Chuck” — after, according to Ms. Pelosi, he “flipped … because he didn’t see a rush to impeachment coming out of our caucus.”

Ms. Pelosi suggested after the meeting that Mr. Trump actually wants to be impeached so that the Republican-controlled Senate can overrule the measure. Ms. Pelosi also said that she hopes the president’s administration and staff stage an “intervention” for Mr. Trump after his "temper tantrum".

Origin of Russian probe goes 'all the way up the chain,' Robert Ray says

"After two years of conspiracy, special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation is over but the origins of the Russia-collusion probe is still unknown. However former Whitewater independent counsel Robert Ray believes judgment day is within sight.

Former Congressman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., told Maria Bartiromo on "Sunday Morning Futures" that Comey wrote, in an email to his staff including James Baker, the former general counsel at the FBI, former agent Peter Strzok, and former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, that Brennan insisted to include Donald Trump in the Russian meddling assessment.

When the FOX Business host asked “how far up the ladder this goes,” Ray answered: “all the way up the chain".

More deflection and foolish words that can't be backed up. No evidence.

Trump calls 'treason' on Comey, McCabe and 'a number of people'

"President Trump on Thursday escalated his attacks on those involved in launching the federal investigation into his campaign’s contacts with Russia, saying “a number of people” should be tried for treason".

http://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-comey-mc-cabe-strzok-page-guilty-of-treason-214458786.html

MUELLER REPORT: A total of 251 contacts between Trump’s team and RUSSIA-linked operatives have been identified, including at least 37 meetings. And we know that at least 33 high-ranking campaign officials and Trump advisers were aware of contacts with Russia-linked operatives during the campaign and transition, including Trump himself. NONE of these contacts were ever reported to the proper authorities. Instead, the Trump team tried to COVER UP every single one of them. 88 of these contacts, including 13 meetings, were held AFTER Trump received his first INTELLIGENCE briefing as a presidential candidate on August 17, 2016, when he was specifically WARNED about Russian attempts to infiltrate his campaign.

BETSY DEVOS IS THE EIGHTH TRUMP OFFICIAL TO USE PERSONAL EMAIL FOR OFFICIAL WHITE HOUSE BUSINESS

"Education Secretary Betsy DeVos is the latest member of the Trump administration to get caught for using her personal email to conduct official business in what appears as yet another contradiction to Donald Trump’s incessant attacks on Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server when she was secretary of state".

"But the report now brings the total number of Trump officials who have used personal communication tools during their time in the administration to eight: DeVos, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump, Stephen Miller, Gary Cohn, Steve Bannon, K.T. McFarland, and Reince Priebus".

Trump moves to escalate investigation of intel agencies

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Trump directed the U.S. intelligence community on Thursday to "quickly and fully cooperate" with Attorney General William Barr's investigation of the origins of the multi-year probe of whether his 2016 campaign colluded with Russia, granting a loyalist sweeping powers to review and potentially release highly classified information".

Yes, everyone should cooperate with the investigation. All investigations. The odd thing is the only person telling people not to cooperate is the President. Trying to undermine the Mueller report finding to avoid obstruction of justice charges is an interesting move for an innocent person. The courts are ruling against the President’s efforts to block and ignore the congressional subpoenas.

No innocent people are afraid of investigations. Nor would they be uncooperative. Comey has stated that he would make himself fully available and fully cooperate. Now, who do we all know that is actually trying to hinder investigations?

Trump Needs to Go 'Into Psychotherapy', Says Howard Stern: He Was 'Traumatized' by His Childhood

"Donald Trump should consider going to therapy for his mental health, according to his friend Howard Stern.

“From what I know of Donald and his relationship with his father, it sounds traumatic,” the radio talk show host told CNN’s Anderson Cooper in an interview, set to air on Saturday.

“It sounds like the father was very domineering, the father expected a lot from him and military school. You read these drips and drabs and you go, ‘Wow,’ I can assure you he’s been traumatized,” Stern continued. “Donald, his level of narcissism is so strong and he has troubles with empathy, we know that".

GOP Ex-Lawmaker Demands Impeachment Of Trump, Resignation Of Pence

"Former Rep. Tom Coleman (R-Mo.) has penned a blistering op-ed calling for the impeachment of “illegitimate” President Donald Trump.

Coleman, in his piece for The Kansas City Star, published Thursday titled “Trump, Pence are illegitimate. Impeach them,” argued that if Trump was impeached, then Vice President Mike Pence should resign as otherwise “the lingering stench of corruption” would trail his administration'.

Special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, Coleman wrote, showed Trump and members of his team had “on multiple occasions welcomed Russian interference on his behalf during the 2016 presidential campaign.” Therefore, Coleman reasoned, “the president’s election victory brought forth nothing less than an illegitimate president.”

Key House Democrat: About 40 of us want Trump impeached

"WASHINGTON — About 40 House Democrats now support impeachment, including about 90 percent of those on the House Judiciary Committee, according to a key Democrat on the judiciary panel who is one of the more aggressive advocates for impeachment".

A friend of mine made a point to me today. And I know he is basically right. They have enough against Trump to impeach him. But the fact of the matter is, Republican's that care more about the party than doing what's right will block it. The Senate is just as cooked as Trump is.

Republican agenda is more important than doing what's right. Republicans have slid so far to the right that they would rather have a Republican crook as president than any Democrat. If it wasn't for the Democrats many would have already lost there Social Security/Medicare/Medicaid. It would be gone if it was left up to the Republicans. And that's one of the main things they are after.

Trump appeals ruling allowing banks to hand his financial records to Congress

"US President Donald Trump, three of his children and the Trump Organization on Friday appealed a court order allowing Deutsche Bank AG and Capital One Financial Corp to hand their financial records over to Democratic lawmakers.

Seeking affirmation: Trump has aides vouch he’s ‘very calm’

"WASHINGTON (AP) — Sometimes even the president of the United States needs somebody to vouch for him.

No, Trump insisted Thursday, he did not have a temper tantrum a day earlier when he cut off a White House meeting with congressional Democrats after just three minutes.

To prove it — in the middle of a meeting with farmers — he called on five members of his staff to bear witness to his demeanor".

http://www.apnews.com/f12ab4617fb94910ade2a96040f88dd1

His demeanor isn't the issue. Both Nixon and Clinton continued working during their impeachment process. As if to prove that they were strong courageous competent leader's, committed to the Presidency. And they both passed major bills during that period.

Trump has gone on strike. The deal was infrastructure, which we desperately need. Not a hissy fit name calling act of desperation. Trump was supposed to come prepared, with proposals for funding & projects. Commerce, Treasury & other agencies should have been represented. Trump came with nothing more than a pout. Had no intention of engaging in the complex negotiations, which after seeing his deal-making ability we now know he's incapable of. It was a scam. Fox was already there, reporting the story before they could have known what had happened.

The significant thing is Trump walked out, refusing to do the job.

Trump administration breaks campaign promise, purges 200,000 VA healthcare applications

"The current state of the Department of Veterans Affairs is absolutely unacceptable,” presidential candidate Donald Trump said when speaking at a rally on Oct. 31, 2015, in front of the retired battleship USS Wisconsin in Norfolk, Va.

"Over 300,000 — and this is hard to believe, and it’s actually much more than that now — over 300,000 veterans died waiting for care," said Trump.

Trump’s strong condemnation of the Obama administration’s handling of the backlog of hundreds of thousands of veteran benefits claims made him the overwhelming choice for many veteran voters in 2016. "

"But after two years in the White House, the Trump administration has decided to execute a plan to purge 200,000 applications for VA healthcare caused by known administrative errors within VA’s enrollment process and enrollment system — problems that had already been documented by the Office of the Inspector General in 2015 and 2017. 'There’s a danger here': Trump warns Democrats about impeachment

"In a Rose Garden appearance Wednesday, President Trump warned Democrats not to pursue impeachment proceedings against him.

“There’s a danger here,” said Trump. “If someday a Democrat becomes president and you have a Republican House, they can impeach him for any reason, or her. Any reason. We can’t allow that to happen. We can’t allow it to happen".

There’s a danger here,” said Trump. “If someday a Democrat becomes president and you have a Republican House, they can impeach him for any reason, or her. Any reason. We can’t allow that to happen. We can’t allow it to happen.”

You’re not being investigated for “any reason”. It is your close relationship with Russia. It is because you and your “best people” lied to cover it up. It is because Russia intervened to get you elected.

Trump informed Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer that he wanted to “do infrastructure” but not while he’s facing congressional investigations. So POTUS is clearly abdicating his job responsibilities. Congress has constitutional authority for oversight of the Executive branch. So Trump is saying he won't do his job because Congress is doing their job. Wow, just wow.

As long as I can remember the Supreme Court has always had a liberal lean to it. I'm 68 years old. During the last 45 years our society has been conditioned with the ideology that anyone wanting to be a judge, attorney, university professor, politician or news broadcaster HAS to be liberal and being a socialist is a plus.

One can be conservative but you have to restrict your opinions to within your home, Church or small business. A conservative who effects political law and/or policy is labelled as a NAZI forcing your will on society.

The liberal socialist, of course, is considered open minded and educated where the conservative is portrayed as narrow minded and ignorant. Our local mayor running for president (Pete Buttigieg) has made comments that conservative judges on the Supreme court is unacceptable. He plans to modify the Supreme Court to circumvent the conservative justices who have been installed. Had conservatives advanced this idea when all of the liberal justices were installed the entire nation would have protested.. Candidate Buttigieg openly attacked Vice President Mike Pence (when governor of Indiana) because of Pense's Christian religion.

Presently anyone stating and challenging this is maligned and told to keep their views to themself. In today's America only liberal Socialists have true freedom of speech in the national press, on many university campuses and even in some social media.

Of course, it's all a Russian plot against Hillary, right. Democrat's and media can't or won't accept that Americans who can think for themselves would ever vote for anyone outside of the democratic party.

Well, keep thinking that and see what happens in 2020.

Republican presidents in 40 years (10 terms)

Reagan 81-89 (2 terms)
George HW Bush 89-93(1 term)
George W Bush 01-09 (2 terms)
Trump 2017

when half of the past TEN Terms have been republican, why would anyone be of the mind that people wont vote 'outside the democratic party'

The problem with Trump was not disagreeing with his PARTY. The problem with Trump was TRUMP, his childish behavior, his mouth, and his total lack of experience or knowledge.

That's true, now. While obama was potus, if you disagreed, you were labeled a racist.

Don't you just love it? Modify the basic structure of our government, without putting it to the people? I'd forgotten about this one-

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_abolition_amendment#Bayh%E2%80%93Celler_amendment

Getting rid of the electoral college was tried before. Had it passed, it had an interesting twist. The nominated candidates would have been instilled as president, and vice president. Hillary would have been president-and Trump vice president. This started back during the Nixon years. Bet our country would look way different had it passed.

Presently anyone stating and challenging this is maligned and told to keep their views to themself. In today's America only liberal Socialists have true freedom of speech in the national press, on many university campuses and even in some social media.

Isn't that the truth? How many times has the media said that Trump stomped out of a meeting? Several times. What did he actually do? Just get up and walk out, saying nothing. But he does shoot himself in the foot with his tweets after the fact. Its his pent up frustration with a failed meeting that gets to him. It's the way he vents. By keeping us informed of situations. No, it's not the best, but at least we know firsthand what happened.

Sean Hannity keeps saying that journalism is dead in America. He's right, much to your dismay. We have to search for "Just the facts", without the authors slant on the situation. I know what news sources are polluted with personal viewpoints. Plenty of "Journalists" got their start in the Dem party. Their objectivity got pushed off the cliff before they started off in their sterling new career as a journalist.

One of these times, dems might figure out that hillary was, and still is a big zero. I tried to be objective in 2015, I sat and listened to a sales pitch on hillary. It was 20 minutes of saying nothing useful. No promises, nothing mentioned about current events. Just a sermon about very vague, pie in the sky morals that couldn't be applied to the running of this country. Reminded me of one of those "Motivational speakers" that say nothing, inspire less, and weren't worth listening to. (Shades of the Amway pyramid scheme.)

I count on things that work. What dems spout off, won't.

conservative: tending or disposed to maintain existing views, conditions, or institutions :

liberal: given or provided in a generous and openhanded way

the labels have been turned into emotional triggers to divide people.
in truth, there are too many issues in our country to believe in the value of maintaining EVERYTHING as is or providing everything for everyone

there are many things that people want to change, which is NOT conservative
there are many things people wish to see left alone, which is NOT liberal.

democrats and republicans are people first, I wish we would talk more about individuals and less of putting people in a box of either democrat or republican or independent.

there are many things people wish to see left alone, which is NOT liberal.

I don't agree that it is not liberal if you want to leave things as they are. Suppose in one area things are almost right, as good as you can get in an imperfect world? Why would liberal minded people wish to change things? Just because they are 'liberal' with no opinion on whether those things are actually pretty good? I don't think so. I think liberals would ignore such things and use their energy to try to correct other things that are wrong and need change.

From over here in the UK, I see US democrats as being people who want a genuine, free and democratic country, open to change where the general view is that change is needed.

I see Republicans as, generally, loud, noisy, gun owning people who want to control everything, with of course the donald as the worst example of this that anyone could think of.

Which is why if I lived in the US, I would most certainly be a democrat supporter!

In the UK our two main parties are called Conservative and Labour. Conservative isn't as bad as US Republicans, and in some issues I support them. We don't have guns in this country, it is illegal to own one, except in specific situations. Labour is Left Wing with in some extreme cases, allegiance to communist ideals.

In the past the difference was clear. Conservatives would have lower taxes, arguing that your money is your to spend and as little as possible should go to the government. Labour had higher taxes but that meant greater support for the under privileged, those without an income, elderly folk and anyone else for whose income doesn't go very far for the basics of food, clothing and rent.

Although it's easy to see our Labour party as similar to the Democrats and our Conservative party as similar to the Republicans, we also have a third party that used to be called the Liberal party, up till the 1980s.

English politics has now become far more complicated since then, especially with the rise of several new parties. You say that party labels have been turned into an emotional trigger to divide people. The same is happening here in England, but it isn't the Conservative or Labour choice. Today it is the Leave Europe or Remain divide. The new smaller parties are no longer divided on Left (Labour) / Right (Conservative) lines, but on Leave or Remain lines. I suspect that the two parties will be losing votes heavily at the next General Election to the minor parties, although it's anyone's guess what will happen after we finally leave Europe and politics returns to decisions about taxes, schools, health and the usual topics.
