I am just wondering... I turned 50 this year and for this first time in my life I am questioning my ability to actually find a life-long partner. Can someone give me a clue as to what age group I still have a chance with and how men respond to a woman over 50?

honestly i dated a 53 year old when i was 26. it really depends on what your looking for i guess. if you like the person enough the age isn't gonna matter as much as you think it will.

 But honestly I think the biggest problem is getting someone to meet me! Maybe I should lie about my age?

I hear you loud and clear, sister, I am 53, I look great, really I do for a 53 yo female, and I got hit on by a 20 y.o. male, like I would even consider that, no way!! However the guys around my age don't seem intersted, I can't understand it, I think this age bracket of men still want the 40 y.o. women, they still consider themselves studs, so us 50 y.o. women are left with the 55+ men who are out of shape, no thanks, I'll stay single. Just my .2 worth....

never lie, it just leads down bad roads. i'd say if a 20 year old hits on you he's looking for just 1 thing. but you never know younger guys like older women it can happen.

It's so true!! I was actually a mess for most of my 40ies and I got a lot of action! Now at 50 I really have it all together (well most of it) and just the mention of 50 and the action has stopped!! What is that all about?

Age group is all over the place. Though, it does seem men in their early 40s aren't into us. At least that's my experience.
Let me add; Never lie about your age or weight. |

I never have lied about my age and never even thought about it, but it seems that if men would just meet with me they may like me. There is only a days difference between 49 and 50.

in my experience it seems like guys my age like the older women on the basis that their much more mature and have all their crap together (not to mention their in their sexual prime) older women are generally more open minded, there's all kinds of reasons. the hard part is if the age difference is huge you usually end up with problems from their kids which is why i didn't keep dating her.

Well then you have the problem of the younger guy not having his crap together, so it won't work. I'd rather stay alone. |

I am closing in on 50 myself...
I feel we are like a fine wine... We get better with time... There are men out there for our age group...

yeah that does happen, but see i'm in the age bracket right between women maturing and still being huge partiers. in my case i'm not into the party scene anymore and look for a women who's of the same mind. works the same for women i would think about finding a guy thats in their same mind state. it really just comes down to finding that comfortable medium for you.

I am really liking older women for their maturity. When there about 80 and 90 I find they are a lot more laid back and easier to talk to.
