IMO, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump never should have even made it to the election. Neither were qualified to represent this country.

nothing to do with the intent of the threads people start, because scissorhands contributes but rarely ever starts any threads (especially Trump threads).

There are enough regulars to begin Trump praise or bash threads. And the same ones usually do.

I see a LOT of bashing on here. Every time someone posts something that Trump really did, just like the link I posted above, that's a fact, certain ones will not talk about the posted topic. The best they can muster up is "bashing". In other words, posting truth about our president is bashing.

And that's sad. That tells me that many would rather bury their heads in the sand and not face the truth. They would rather make excuses and try to cover it up with, it's bashing or it's fake news. Or just get silly and hateful.


Yes, I read more on these threads than I join in. What I see mostly on these threads, the right relentlessly bashing the left. Many don't seem to know how to debate a topic without having to bring a moderator into it.

Msharmoney for example. I'm not saying I agree with everything she posts. But I will say that for the most part, she posts common knowledge and common sense. She gets bashed a lot for posting the truth.


When the left points out facts that the right can't dispute without getting smart-mouthed, silly or hateful, that turns me off. Like it does a lot of others. Many read these threads but don't participate. Simply because of all the hate and discontent that goes on these threads. Very little fact do I ever see posted on these threads.

It seems that posting facts, well, can get you beat on. Nobody wants to be beat on for telling the truth. Or posting a link that leads to the truth.

Point being, it is one thing to debate and argue.. which we all do. Because both sides feel strongly about their views. but to comment on those who do.. when you don't get involved in the conversations.. well, that is wrong.

This is the spirited debate skills that we have come to expect from Trump supporters. The extra letters harken back to grammar school thought processes, because the debater can't think of concrete evidence to offer in counterpoint. Usually a comment like this is followed by such elucidation as "Oh yeah?"

In other threads we have already cited (AP article, I can grab the citation if you "forget" what you read), it was established that it is the blue states that are the majority funding for the folks who are on the dole, and the biggest welfare states are red states.

Blue states would find it pretty hard to shoulder that tax burden if we were not working.

Tom, I totally agree. 2016 found America at the nadir of political thought, with most of the votes being cast being "against" a candidate, rather than "for" a candidate. Also, with the lowest percentage of the population voting of any presidential election (I believe only 26% of the country), it shows how lousy both candidates were; nobody cared enough to make the effort to get off their butt and vote.

Unfortunately, the lack of a third-party candidate means that campaigning and elections will continue to get dirtier. After the last true three-candidate election in 1992 caused an unpredictable result, both the Dems and Reps want to keep third parties out of the presidential race: the Tea Partiers were the last attempt, but the Republicans sucked them into their platform to silence them (leading to the Palin factor, where Gidget most probably cost McCain the election).

Of course, now that Dear Leader has shown that an election can basically be bought, we may as well run 2020 like an episode of American Idol

Pence (in 2019) is scary, but at least he has a brain and won't get outthought by Putin. And even with the incumbancy, Pence getting re-elected in 2020 is long odds.

Caasee, though this country has faced in the past similar times of utter division, at least we did not have as mentally vacant a guy as this idiot in charge. Obviously the Civil War presidents and Hoover oversaw times as trying, but men like Kennedy and Nixon faced similar problems. (We must recall that Kennedy was facing a tough re-election bid when he was killed, times were that bad). Nixon is not remembered for the pluses in his term, but even he had the political accumen and experience to succeed in foreign affairs. The current POTUS is morally bankrupt and totally clueless in foreign relations, and talking pipe dreams with domestic policy. (A guy that thinks "clean coal" is a fuel that has been washed is quite frankly, a buffoon)

that is not completely accurate. Trumps people will only have trust in the justice department if it turns up something on Hilary, but still wont consider anything it turns up on Trump. Hopefully more are either trusting or untrusting that the department is corrupt (in both hilary and trumps handling) or not corrupt(in both hilary and trumps handling) and they will, accordingly, respect their findings on BOTH parties.
