stash houses are all over the place.. some.. legal

here we have the west side of town. All huge Victorian homes owned by the so call " socialites" of the county. All of these houses are now occupied by illegal aliens. crammed in.. screw the fire codes.

The mayor threatened to publish the names of these socialite slumlords. in a attempt to embarrass them.

From what I understand the landlords collect rent from EVERY working person in the house... the more the merrier.

Oooooh, 60? So many? I mean there are only like some 25 million+ more illegals in the country (depending on whose numbers you read).

I know I grew up in an agrarian area, and "everybody knew" about the small town close by that was all illegals, "everybody knew" the restaurants that would mysteriously close down for a couple random days due to INS inspections, "everybody knew" about the slaughterhouse in the next town that would bus up people that spoke no english, set them up in a section of the illegal town, and when accidents happened? they disappeared.

But TX got 60 of them? Whoopie da doo.
And who arrested them for being here illegally?
Federal cops? Locals? Locals arresting them, detaining them for ICE?
Ruh roh, watch out for the buried story where they're just released after a couple of days, or some ACLU lawyer comes in and finds some flaw like the deputy that processed them didn't take the 2 hour federal online course in sensitivity or they said the magic asylum word so they're all let go.

I would agree to this, though:

The number of illegal mexicans should be considered an invasion.
Bush can invade Iraq for preemptive security and fake WMD's, why not invade Mexico due to boots on the ground foreign invasion.
Keep going to Panama due to "collusion" between mexico and central america.
The wall between panama and colombia would be a lot cheaper.
Plus it would be a prime location to stage raids against the cocaine fields.
Win win win.

Stash houses are in many states not just in Tx. Problem Is the Landlords need to be prosecuted for hiding illegals.

The Landlords maybe relatives or friends of some of the illegals. But here in Us Legally themselves.

Boarders are not secure and many in US are too naive to see that or just don't care until they need help in some way, from a problem caused by illegals , that involves harm to them. Or someone close to them.

I don't think landlords are to blame. The illegals are working either under the table or with a fake ss #. Thats illegal. I've never heard of a law that requires landlords to check legal status. I mean, they are getting drivers license. That's what a lot of places require as proof of identification.

Ive never heard that term" stash house", I thought when I first heard on here it was a drug house or something like it.

Simple... Politics

The " socialites" in my county carry more weight then the mayor of my town. And carrying thru with his treat who certainly halt his political career.

Everyone knows who owes each big house, and the " socialites" are still in the paper each week at the hospital gala ( black tie // black dress).. charity fundraiser, ect ect.. big fake smiles..

hypocrites.

here they ( the county) set up " muster zones" where each morning the illegals gather to be picked up from contractors or home owners to do day work.

So, I find it hard to believe that ICE would have a hard time finding them. each morning there is at lest 100 of them, so more

$150.00 a day.. ( used to be $100.00.. but now they want more).. not only illegal.. but greedy to... Ahhh... the American way ;)

Landlords should check who is living in /on their property. Not just collect rent by mail. When there is a number of people with same address there could be a problem.

Anyway. the illegals maynot be paying rent in these cases. The Landlords maybe the ones receiving payment from Illegals for sneaking them into the US.

From what I saw happening in a county nearby, the landlords weren't involved in any type of smuggling. The homes may have been large but they were run down. Old wiring, plumbing, etc. Some probably built in the 1800. They were just trying to make a profit.
Tenants often bring in others that aren't on the lease. Landlords don't have access to the property without notice. Unless they sit across the street day and night, they don't know what's going on. What do you think would happen if the landlord called the police?

The house on the news was very nice and in a nice area in this City in TX.

That is how they were caught by agents staking out neighborhoods.
They usually have leads when they do that. They weren't just local policemen.

I',m sure in many places illegals do live in run down houses.

Hopefully agents, who seek out illegals will keep up the good work.

Landlords are not to blame for the illegals problem. They didn't leave the gate open. The issue here were I live is that there is a lot of people living in these houses. And that is very dangerous from a fire standpoint.

But for some reason it is not actively enforced. the town, county and state seem to look the other way. Everyone knows about it but nothing happens.

What will happen is the obvious. there will be a fire in one of these type houses be it here or somewhere else ( this is not the only place they are cramming them in) and many will die. And then code officers will be out in full force. And politicians will be asking that hollow " How could this happen!!"

After the fact, of course

And at that point in my opinion those who own those houses and knew of the cramming should be charged with involuntary manslaughter

these houses are a powder keg waiting to happen.
