But you know that a family hitting hard times isn't the same as having a family while living on the tax payers dine. People shouldn't live in constant struggle where they need help. They should spend time paying into the system also. With the young mother trying to better herself, she eventually got hired on and got benefits for her and her baby. She isn't paying in as many taxes as a single person but will eventually pay back what she received in taxes. I don't believe those others will ever be productive members of society. It's time tax payers have some say in where their money is going. I know benefits are scheduled to faze out over the next few years. I don't know to what extent.
trump has already cut food stamps, not sure on what or why, but I've seen a few videos where people were reciving food packages instead of a card...government cheese, I guess...

those videos are fake, he has proposed nonsense, but it hasnt been passed or begun ...

I get mad when I'm behind someone at the grocery store buying name brand with a food stamp card and I'm behind them with great value as a tax payer. I believe a lot of this is why Trump was elected. Like he said, people who truly need help, can't get it.

I dont presume to know anyone else's personal financial situation or circumstances. Im glad that we are a nation that still has enough humanity to provide a safety net for families hitting hard times and struggling to give the children food and shelter.

if you dont know the individual circumstance why are you quick to make the claim that "thank God there are safety nets"

Look , do you acknowledge that fraud goes on in the welfare program?

I can say it the same way I can say thank goodness for childcare centers even though I dont presume to know if their may sometimes be pedophiles working there ... that is still a crime that is prosecutable and not a PART of what the centers are designed to do

likewise, I aknowledge there is fraud in EVERY system, which is also a prosecutable offense, and not a design of the system itself.

sounds like a problem with jealousy. because you choose to buy great value shouldn't mean everyone should be required to make the choices you do when it comes to what they wish to serve their family....

I didnt ask if there was fraud in every system I asked do you think fraud goes on in the welfare system?

Im going to take it as a yes?

Not sure what pedophile in daycare has to do with my question but whatever.

So tell miss harmony who do you think deserves to collect welfare and for how long should they be able to collect welfare?

anyone with children who hits hard times, anyone with disability or other impairments that make it less likely they will be able to 'earn' a living wage.

I think they should get it until they have other resources to rely on, or the finances to provide basic needs for their family, though that doesnt matter because they already have a time limit in most cases of five years per lifetime for cash type assistance.

Reason Trump suggested food boxes instead of food cards. Like I've said before, the poor are living better than the middle class tax payers on tax payers dine.

I would never agree to that...nothing there to make them go look for a job...the more you give people, the more they want..its been known for thousands of years now...

so what about teenage moms with multiple kids, what about women who refuse to work and has multiple kids from different fathers particularly those that live in Section 8 housing

Do you think those who currently collect welfare should save money to go on vacation or a cruise?

the poor are living on much smaller budgets than the middle class, its not living 'better' just because someone sees them take a vacation or buy a food that has a name brand

of course there is. The desire to have a better life for their kids. no one is proposing to give 'more', but 300 a month for a mother and child is not much 'incentive' to stay home. It just allows the family to EAT until someone can earn what they need to cover the grocery on their own.

alot of what ifs there, but okay

teenage moms with multiple kids? I would say they should get assistance that INCLUDES occupational mentoring so that they can eventually work in a living wage job.

women who 'refuse' to work with multiple kids, Id say work harder to get the fathers to support their children.

Yes. I think EVERY PERSON should save to take a time out, via vacation or whatever, occasionally. It helps to refresh from struggle and/or hopelessness.

Assistance is supposed to be. Temporary til you are employed unless you are legitimate disabled then that's different.

Having children doesn't qualify you for disability assistance! I worked. For years with dozens of women , who were raising children.

Maybe because they. have work ethics!!!

yes, assistance is temporary.

having children qualifies you for welfare if you are struggling.

people have different support systems but not everyone's is the same and some use assistance in lieu of some of the systems other 'working' women may rely on.

'work ethics' is only 'status obsession' when a mothers work is not valued without someone paying her for it. ...

now you are pulling my leg, you are not serious.

You know that agency bureaucrats are too busy to monitor everyone, heck Ive heard stories of parole and probation officers that are overwhelmed and cannot keep up and you expect a person from the welfare department to monitor Shaniqua with multiple kids to help her find work?

Find work to do what?

Chances are she dropped out of high school, and if she did finish high school chances are she has no workable skills.

So who is going to hire her?

There are those who do want to work but only can find work at places like Walmart and fast food.

and as for the single mom to work harder to get her baby's daddy for support? okay

And if he is doing time, in a gang with other women and his kids, or dead what then?

Get half of his prison money?

and if he is in a gang, well I doubt that a forensic accountant is going to have any luck dissecting his assets to collect child support.

and you believe those on welfare should also save to go on vacation?

wow I am really shaking my head here, Im thinking and I dont want to sound rude but you're ...actually never mind, dont want to get in trouble with the mods.

WOW.
