Biloxi The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are the grand finale each day at the Blues Over Biloxi Air Show July 21-22, following a lineup of waterfront flight demonstrations and activities. Gates will open at 9 a.m. both days at the Great Lawn at Harrah’s Gulf Coast Casino on U.S. 90 in East Biloxi, where activities and the Food Truck Rally will be centered. Admission is free, although those who want to spend the day in the shade of the VIP area can get tickets for $30 per person and $10 for children under age 12 beginning at 9 a.m. both days. Those tickets, available only at the site, include water, ice and access to restrooms in the VIP area. About 50,000 spectators are expected to watch the Blue Angels’ flights each day, said Mark Boyd, project development for David Schultz Airshows, which is organizing the show. Many will gather at the Great Lawn and at The Blind Tiger restaurant that’s adjacent, and visit the food trucks, the retail displays and exhibits on site. The supertanker refuels planes in the air. ▪ U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter Flyby ▪ Lee Leet’s Tucano Demo. Former U.S. Air Force pilot Lee Leet of Louisville, Kentucky, performs in a Short Tucano plane. ▪ U.S. Coast Guard MH-65D Search & Rescue Helicopter Recovery demo ▪ AeroShell Aerobatic Team (Saturday only). Sounds like fun Tom. Are you going? I've seen the Blue Angels a couple of times when I lived in Traverse City. They have shows at the Cherry Festival quite often.

We watched them several years ago practicing. Camping on the island, they'd come over our camp at tree top level or in front of the island. The kids would go wave and they'd wiggle they're wings. Was also out there on the boat when Capt. Kuss crashed. Watched it go down, thought it was a maneuver until we saw the mushroom cloud.

That's sad, and pretty sad to see I imagine Yes, we thought, oh cool,... until then.. We all knew that wasn't supposed to happen. It was hard to tell if the boom was it, or another plane already in the air. We were probably about 5 miles from the site.

Not by myself Since I can stand on the beach and see Biloxi on a clear day, I might go there and see if I can spot anything. I've been to a few air shows where the Blue Angels flew and it is amazing. I've also been assigned duty at a couple experimental aircraft demonstrations that were intense.
