rob since when did the first date turn into meeting for the very first time?
Absolutely not for me, but if it's going well and you both decide to go on somewhere else it's probably ok..
Why not? As long as you don't get carried away. I see nothing wrong with a beer or two
Just as long as you don't have beer goggles, if you get on a keep seeing each other you may sober up one day, just saying

rob since when did the first date turn into meeting for the very first time? Eric, Glad you mentioned that. Online thats the way it is. Meeting someone in person is not done anymore. I mean, were do you pick up a nice date? supermarket? Random meet?? In an age of super toxic feminism, online is your safest bet. |

For some people drinking is normal first date and any other time!
I don't want any man that makes our first date somewhere he has to have a drink. Even though most nicer restaurants have a bar, he doesn't have to have a drink. |

I was thinking along those lines too, as far as the first meet being with someone you met online. Going for coffee during daytime hours would be fine. I think though it's more of a first meet rather than an official date. A meet and greet date. I don't drink, but don't care if my date drinks. Just not on the first meet and greet date. |

I agree with you there my fellow earth sign! A first date I won't stop her from drinking. It has a way of missing up the water, as far as the getting to know the real you...ya know? ;^) |

I wouldn't stop him either. I would just hope he wouldn't the first time we met. I want to meet the man as he is, his true self, not the mood altering version of him. |

Is it normal and accepted to drink ALCOHOL in the first date?(one or both) I don't drink. I tried to, when I was 21. But I learned my clothes always fell off. Because everyone looks good when you are toasted. I want to see what they really look like. |

It depends upon the motivations of the participants...
Tequila makes her clothes fall off ~ Joe Nichols http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nj2700em-JQ She said, I'm goin' out with my girlfriends Margaritas at the Holiday Inn. Oh, have mercy my only thought was Tequila makes her clothes fall off I told her put an extra layer on I know what happens when she drinks patron Her closets missin' half the things she bought Yea, Tequila makes her clothes fall off She'll start by kickin' out of her shoes Lose an earring in her drink Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall Drop a contact down the sink Them pantyhose ain't gonna last too long If the DJ puts Bon Jovi on She might come home in a tablecloth Yea, tequila makes her clothes fall off She can handle any Champagne brunch Bridal shower with Barcadi punch Jello shooters full of Smirnoff But tequila makes her clothes fall off She'll start by kickin' out of her shoes Lose an earring in her drink Leave her jacket in the bathroom stall Drop a contact down the sink She don't mean nothin' she's just havin' fun Tomorrow she'll say, oh, what have I done Friends will joke about the stuff she lost Yea, tequila makes her clothes fall off Oh, tequila makes her clothes fall off Oh, tequila makes her clothes fall off Songwriters: Garry Hannan / John Wayne Wiggins |

Is it normal and accepted to drink ALCOHOL in the first date?
Based on my experience, the people I tend to date, the places I tend to go, it's not really normal, but I think it would be "accepted" if it happened to occur. |

Meet & greet I do during the day over coffees / cappuccinos.
I first date, so the one after the meet & greet... most don't make it to that, lol. But I don't mind if there is some wine or a beer. As long as it's with moderation. |

I've been on a few where 15 minutes in, it was almost manditory.

I've been on a few where 15 minutes in, it was almost manditory. Hi Farm, agreed, but once the other party starts cocking her head to the sky kinda repetitively....well, let's just say there is no love connection!! |

"Sorta" what I was talking about (with the head to the sky). When you have been set up on a date with someone as dumb as a turkey who might drown in rainstorm, it's time for a drink. |

Totally acceptable as long as you donβt get carried away. No one wants to babysit on a first date.
