have no fear stu if there was any id of any kind i wouldn't hesitate to get it back to where it belongs
but wallet and just money is same as money blowing down the sidewalk

Yeah, I'm inclined to feel the same way. Only difference is someone could go to the police station hoping someone was honest enough to go there with it.
but I must admit I'm also not entirely sure what I'd do. Depends on how much 'substantial' is as well. If we're talking 10.000 or 100.000 euros, I'd certainly hand it in. And wonder what knucklehead would walk around with that amount of money in his pocket.
If it was like 150 Euros or less, dunno.
In a way I feel like, what if no one comes to claim it? And how can they proof it IS actually theirs? Then some copper is going to take it home and have a real good time? That's the bit that trips me up a tad, lol.
But I think I would end up turning it in anyways. I don't think I could live with myself if I didn't.

Yes, but at least MY conscious would be clear..

Pretty much this~~~~ if there is no way to find out who it belongs too which would be really strange for all wallets have something in them to identify who it belongs too..If it don't then something is fishy anyway~~whoa

Fishy? I don't have any ID in my wallet either. I keep my bankcards, driver's license etc. separate, my keys as well.
Plus these days, more and more ppl keep all their cards in their cell phone's cover.
So I don't see how a wallet with just money is fishy.

What happened to me was not a wallet.
I found a bag of money on the side of a highway once.
$1500
There was no identity on the bag or in the bag.
I kept it and paid bills
I don't feel bad at all about keeping it.
Considering I've lost or been theived of over twice that much.

I have found a wallet at 6 flags with around $200 in it and turned it in to lost & found.

I have also had two women that were total strangers (at different times) come to my door completely naked and I made sure they got home safe. No, while tempted, I didn't take advantage of the situation because I was married. Both were very drunk.
One time my son's pretty little 17 year old girlfriend tried to climb into be with me when my wife was at work. I told her to go home. Then I told my son what she tried.

If I were to win big now, I would like to use some of that 'found' money to randomly pay off a family or two's electric bills. Sometimes people struggle at the edge and just need that little break to pull themselves up.

you rather not pick it up as a pride issue and move on?

There are people too proud to pick up a wallet on the street?

Pick it up, take to nearest police precinct and turn it in. What becomes of it then is no concern of mine.

None of your choices is valid to me..lol

This is the only possible answer for an honest and honorable person. There have been many instances where exactly this has happened, and when it was a person with a sense of personal honor and integrity found the money, it was returned to the person who lost it.

Yup.
Simple, really, I would not even pause.

Keep the money, of course. i find money all the time. 5's, 20's. I put it in my cookie jar. Its free money.

@Jades

Yes, gui-do is a bad to word to some Italians but not to me,,but if I did say day_go in our house even as an adult around family I would get hollared at by the old timers. Thats about as bad to an Italian as saying the N word in my family.

Dont use words like that and you'll be ok.

I will add that I was in a store 2 days ago and the guy in front of me dropped his money clip. There was a nice 100 showing, but I told the guy about it. I could have snatched it up easy but I flt like being a nice guy. What moron carries 100's around? I never carry more then 10$ on my at any given time. Before I go shopping I go to the bank and take out money. The only time I have more than 10$ on my is when I know Im gonna spend it...ex: at the grocer store, clothes, shoes.....

It's a bull$hit question. People use their wallets to carry ID and all sorts of cards. What the hell is the point of a wallet with just cash and no ID?
If I want to keep just cash without an ID I'd stuff it into one of my pockets.

Nope. Never have done that, never thought of that either. Now I don't walk around with hundreds of euros in my wallet. We call a wallet a 'portemonnaie' which literally means "carry money". That's all I do with it, hihi. These days I barely have cash on me anymore anyways. Like most ppl I pay most of my purchases with bankcard.

I know men often have their (bank) cards and driver's license etc. in their wallet. Somehow men seem more inclined to keep everything together? Same with keys. They tend to put car keys and house keys on the same ring. I don't do that either, I keep those separate.
Since my man has a new cellphone, he keeps all his cards in the slots in its cover. Many ppl do that these days (I don't). So I think he hasn't got any ID in his wallet anymore either. But I doubt he'll have a lot of cash on him, since as good as everything you buy you pay for with your bankcard.
