Here in Fort Worth, Texas we are suppose to have a partial from 11:30am - 2:30pm~~~~~

I was wondering this as well- I live in West Virginia, so I don't think we are going to see much of it. The closest place of totality to us is somewhere in Kentucky....bummer!
For those lucky ones of you who will be able to see it make sure you wear the SPECIAL Viewing GLASSES Regular sunglasses will NOT protect your eyes- even if you just glance at it & look away It's NOT worth damaging your eyes! Enjoy...but be SAFE!! |

I had a friend who came to visit me and we got safe glasses to see the eclipse but then he had to go home with no warning, with the glasses and we don't live near each other.

gas stations should sell them

We should get around 91%. I have not been able to find any glasses or viewers. Guess I waited too late to look, and they are all sold out around here! I will make a pinhole projector. Hope it works. I have found different instructions on how to make them.

I'm a lot farther than that from South Carolina and we're going to have 80% coverage. Well, I hope you are able to experience a little of it. Have a good night |

All set for the eclipse and now it looks like Wisconsin will be cloud covered. Then again, the weather here can change in 15 minutes.

Very cool Mikey, glad you're able to watch it. I'll be heading to the park soon. I'm more excited now that I have the glasses needed.

Y'all know its just a shadow, right?
The only thing it signifies is that the Moon is just the right size and distance that it 'appears' to cover the Sun. I've seen a full solar eclipse on the ocean. I've seen multiple lunar eclipses. None of them were that interesting, merely shadows. Its not a spiritual event. It doesn't open a portal. Lost creatures do not rise. It doesn't amplify magic. It is merely physics and perspective. Solar scientists use eclipses all the time while observing the Sun. You can create your own eclipse with a black plastic disc on a stick. I find it interesting, that in this day and age, people are still occupied with shadows. I just wonder how many will strip down naked to get the full "effect"? That might be interesting to see. |

We just had the first FULL eclipse in the US here
on the Oregon coast..nice and dark out, I may have looked at it searching for it in the sky which was overcast. |
|
|
|
Hmmm...well now there's a thought!
Either way Tom, it's cool. For me, it's the first one I get to see with the glasses, so I'm excited about it. If that makes me silly...then so be it....I like being silly! The black plastic disc sounds kind of cool, I didn't know that. Enjoy your day Tom...if you feel like doing so that is. :) |

I think that anyone who wants to see a solar eclipse and has the chance should do so. I saw it onlt because the ship's captain decided we should.
If you do see it and it changes your perspective on life for the better, great. Chances are after you see it you will realize that it was much ado about nothing merely a shadow. |
