Any thoughts or experiences?

When she gets out the chains and escapes the dungeon, she pretty much got away.

I feel no tension on the leash.

Do I have anyone who I "let get away" in my past? Of course.

Would I, to this day, like to have another go with any of them? Not in the least, unless I could travel back in time as well.

If you mean, do I have anyone who I actually thought or think was THE one, as in the one I OUGHT to have gone after instead of anyone I DID go after... that's another question. In fairness, no, but then, the reason why not, is that I never went after the ones I probably should have, to learn enough about them to have legitimate regrets.

The ones that "got away" are the ones that didn't stick around long to grow tired of.

so when ya roll over in bed and they are not there
when you turn to talk to them in the car
when that phone ain't ringing
no love letters in the mail
when you compare everyone else that comes along...to that one

That definitely sounds like THE ONE. That can be hard to get over.

They all got away because when they go running for the hills I don't stop them.

I don't have a one that 'got away'

because I can honestly say there was good reason whenever a relationship ended

however, I did have one that I lost,,meaning at some point our relationship changed in a way that LEAD to it ending,, I will never know what or why it happened that way, but I do think often about what we 'lost' and wonder if I will ever 'find' it with anyone else again,,,
