As you get older you will find that age does matter to an extent. At 23, dating someone 33 years old is not a big deal. Dating someone that is 13 is against most society's laws. However at 55, dating someone 45 or 65 is not really a big issue.

Generational separation is usually more than 8 years. Around every 8-10 years personality traits differ. Experience bases differ.

I grew up in the 1960s. I find things funny or not funny different than someone that grew up in the 90s. The values I have are different than theirs.
While some of those differences can be interesting, love is usually built by similarities.

Many will tell you that age doesn't matter but many will also tell you other things that are not common. You can force anything. Smoking is one such example. You can't force love.

I figure it this way. If age is important enough to need yours or their consideration, it is an issue. Forcing the issue will be an obstacle in the relationship. Over time, that issue will get bigger and bigger.

We are all different, age is only an issue if you or your partner make it one. It may not be an issue right now but things do change with time.

I've got an image in my head right now. I'm just a kid building with my Legos by myself. So far I've only built the foundation for a castle. Some girl walks up and starts having new ideas that I don't like and we fight and destroy everything. I also see an older kid coming over and taking over because they already know the cool and right way to build it to make it realistic but they won't stick around they will be going to first grade. I could see someone who has started building like me coming and adding their foundation to mine. I can also see me leaving my legos to go mess with someone else's I don't like that idea though because I don't want to mess with their image that they have unless my image can fit with theirs. I think age is and always will be a preference thing. You will have to decide how you want to build with your partner or friend. My ideal situation would be if someone was to add their foundation to mine. These are not the only situations you will run into. Also I wouldn't mind if someone helped me find a good and realistic way to build it. This is a simplified version of my thought process as is to why age does and doesn't matter it's about how you deal with the situation your in. If your situation changes best to adapt rather than be complacent. In the end it's always up you.

Personally, I don't think age difference matters. If the two people involved don't think it matters, then it doesn't matter in my opinion.

I'm 75. All of my life I've looked a lot younger than I really was. Problem is, as the women have gotten older most of them look a lot worse for their age. Someone my age would be nice since I don't look it but for the most part am 75. Kind of hard to find a compatible match since a lot of women don't want someone like me because they look a low worse off.
