If a couple has a disagreement here and there, but they always work it out (never go to be angry), then I feel the relationship would be better and healthier. Now, if a couple argues all the damn time, starts throwing crap and breaking stuff, or it gets physical then of course it isn't healthy.

I will state that make up sex is damn fun, and couples definitely benefit from that. drinker

Define Win laugh

You get to sleep in your own bed, eat supper and enjoy an evening of quiet.

I think that the goal of the people involved, might be the real key.

When people with differences start "discussing" or "arguing" or "debating" those differences, and the goal of one or both is to WIN, the results usually have a negative impact on the relationship.

When instead, the participants are both dedicated to finding ways to get along, the exact same [whatevers] tend to have very positive results.

well said!

I couldn't agree more about the key being in the 'goal' or motive.. my ex had only winning in mind, always(no exaggeration of the word) had to be right.. I call it his 'Jekyll / Hyde' personality.. if I disagreed, the monster appeared..

personally, I'd rather find ways/solutions to any given issue.. there's enough strife in the world and I feel the home should be a haven.. and that a couple should be able to navigate through their conflicting opinions with open communication.. so again agree, that 'finding ways to get along' does tend to result in a positive way...

I would agree with you.
But than we would both be wrong.

of course it is
you argued with your siblings, your parents and your friends
at one time or another
so of course, you will at some point come to a point of disagreement
with the one you are in a relationship with
two minds, two distinct personalities are bound to differ
at some point along the way

My best chance to get to know you better whoa

Bring it on lady laugh

Okay, by now I think I have seen few women warriors on the loose.
Fighting 4 nothing, just to WIN nothing, but lose BIG in the long run.

Like in most social competitive sports, there is an old LOGO.

WINNING IS NOT ALL, LASTING THE DISTANCE
IS WHEN ONE GETS THE MEDAL IN THE END.

Betcha that cat wishes to kill me now whoa

Can you genuinely remove arguing from a relationship or do you believe arguing is a natural part of a healthy relationship? What happens if you find arguing detrimental but your partner finds it natural? What’s the difference between an argument and a debate?

************************************************

I don't like arguments, and EASILY AVOID at
all costs such interactions .

How I do it ??..SIMPLE...I PLAY the DEAF TRICK.

I become on the spot and/or remotely DEAF whoa
....That will upset the opposition more till he/she
gets to the boiling point, where either GIVE UP,
or continue to the next level called FIGHT...
Study the behaviour and the ball is in your hand...
Either fight to the last breath, or walk away before
he/she may kill you.laugh

PS:...The DEAF TRICK works better & best with women.
Specially when they almost finish raging about it, just
ask them calmly ...WHAT WAS IT DID YOU SAID DEAR ??
CAN YOU REPEAT IT TO ME ??....Be very careful tho,
make sure there are no guns, or plates around the scenes.
..." As a general rule, women's like you to listen to
everything they are raving on about it "...Silly things included
...If you didn't hear them, or what they said, that's when they
get really MAD and you hold the points on your favour..
MAKE SURE YOU CAN HAVE SOME WITNESS ??..IT HELPS LATER IN COURT
....Just in case . laugh

Me ?? ..I don't argue even if I'm right .
I always make sure I have built my dog's
house fully equipped with a bar-fridge & lots
of beer, a comfy hammock and an alarm clock before
I move in with her. bigsmile

Answer her arguments after she leaves or fall asleep and when she comes home or wake up with the same argument just say you answered it already, not your problem anymore if she hadn't heard it....bigsmile

I think that a debate would be more of an objective stance on a matter, as apposed to an argument which can be, and is mostly derived and composed of, emotionally charged energy. I believe an unhealthy argument eould be when emotions mind over rule rational mind and reactions are based on this (emotional charge).

If you and your partner argue in your relationship maybe you are incompatible, I guess it all depends on what you find to argue about and how often you argue. However, building a 'mancave' is usually all that is needed to remove these things from the relationship, good luck.

Thanks gorgeous flowers

I have an old saying..NOT ALWAYS WHAT WE WANT IS WHAT WE NEED.
If one knows what he/she NEEDS, the rest is easy and set in stone.

HONESTLY ..At my age, geo position , timing, condition/s etc etc
I ASK MYSELF..Not what I WANT anymore, but WHAT I NEED FIRST.

The TRUTH from inner heart says ..Pauly, you need FRIENDS FIRST.
What can happen next, is the FOLLOWING CHAPTER.

Finally I can jump in the jet and meet face 2 face starting from
there with the chemistry, compatibility and the rest

TIME is my ARROW, and the BOW is my PATIENCE.

Cheers..See you

It is , but when the arguing gets to be constant and too much.

You end up here ;)
