I have been told by several (dozen) people that I have an odd taste in food. Here is a list of some of the odd things that I have made.
Thay have no official names, as of yet.
--------
Take a bowl of chocolate pudding, and add a spoonful of grape jelly to it. Stir.
--------
Hangover sammich
Take two slices of bread, apply a liberal amount of peanut butter to one slice. On the other, add a moderate amount of mustard, and a slice or two of cheese. (I prefer American)
--------
Sullivan peas (named by my Dad's wife)
This might be just in time for Thankgiving. It's a different type of gravy for mashed taters. Take a can of cream of mushroom soup, and add about 2/3 of the milk or water that it calls for, (depends how wet you like your gravy). Follow the cooking directions on can. When it's mixed, and about to go onto the burner, add a can of drained peas to it. Serve hot. This serves about two, so if you're having a big to-do,you need to multiply it out.
--------
Spamalicious
Take a can of Spam, or Treet, and cut into small-sized chunks.
Add a can of baked beans, a can of mushrooms (drained), a can of black olives (drained) into a bowl, and stir. Nuke it for about 2 minutes, stir. Nuke for about 2 more minutes. If it's hot enuff for ya, pour into bowls, and add one more thing. I take a small 99 cent bag of Sun Chips, open the bag, and then crumble them, then top off the mix with them. This will feed 2 people. (great when you're broke)
--------
Sully's Spanish Fiesta platter
Get a box of Hamburger Helper Southwestern style mix. (It's been a long time since I made this,so I'm just guessing what it's called) Add almost twice the amount of hamburger that it calls for. Get a can of mushrooms and a can of black olives (both drained). Start to cook the hamburger (follow the directions on the box) When it's about half done, add the shrooms, and olives. Take a can of refried beans, and a can of Spanich rice, and add them together in a medium sized pan. (If you like shrooms and olives as much as I do,you can add them to this as well) Cook until hot. Take a package of medium to large flour tortillas, and take a set of tongs, and hold the tortillas over a lit burner on your stove until they start to turn brown. If you've never done this, you have to move them around whilst doing this. You can make burritos from this, or use the tortillas like bread. This will serve four people.
--------
Sully's Spanish Fiesta Breakfast platter
Variant of the omelet. Add a can of shrooms, and a can of black olives(both drained) (what,to this too??) sharp cheddar or colby cheese to an omelet. Cook as you normally would. You can cook as scrambled as well. Take a link of chorrizo sausage. (If you've never cooked this,it's VERY greasy). Cut it up, and cook in the same pan with the eggs. Cook until eggs start to turn brown. Take a few tortilla shells, and cook on the burner. Add some picante sauce. (If cooking as scrambled, add the cheese when the eggs are done) When all cooked, overlap two tortilla shells, and add the picante right down the middle, then add the rest of the food, roll it up, and it's good to go.

I know,it all sounds disgusting, right? LOL.. To each, their own

Well, I have traveled and lived in different countries and I always tried every kind of food that was offerd. I did not care what it was made off. At least I had to try before I say I don't like it or yeiks...that sucks.

Living in Costa Rica for more then a year and being surrounded by so many iguanas, I had to accept that they make a very good stew with it and serious....it's so good. Here it is:

1 Iguana
1 lg Onion
2 Cloves Garlic
3 Tomatoes
2 Green Peppers
4 t Achiote Oil
1 pn Pepper
Salt -- To Taste

Make the achiote oil by frying the achiote slowly until the oil is red. Kill the iguana by cutting off its head. Open the belly lengthwise and remove all the entrails. [I didn't write this, folks.] Cook in salted water until the meat is tender (take care not to let it get too soft). Peel and cut in portions. Season with all the above ingredients and cook with about 1 cup water, until almost dry.

I also lived in Mexico for many years and they had some weird taco fillings..........but...it was so good

There is a special tree carrying a certain bug...forgot the name...but it is black with small wings and red strips. (very expensive) They fry the bugs, stuff it into the taco ans add the spicy salsa

or

the little tiny tiny worms which grow in the root of the corn is sold at a "caviar" price and also fried and filled into the tacos with the salsa.

Now....chocolate covered bacon...can you imagine?

Just fry the bacon strips until they are very crispy, place on paper towels to absorb the excess fat. In the meantime melt chocolate morsels in a double boiler. When melded cover the entire bacon strip and then place in the fridge to cool. I was very surprised how good it tasted.

Yes, I eat toast with a slice of cheese (pref. Swiz) and spread marmelade on it.

Kitty Litter Cake

(It really comes out looking like a used litter box! Ewwww! Here's site for a pic: http://www.fabulousfoods.com/recipes/dessert/cakes/kittylittercake.html )

1 spice or German chocolate cake mix
1 white cake mix
2 large pkg vanilla instant pudding mix, prepared (I like Bird's® dessert mix)
1 large pkg vanilla sandwich cookies
green food coloring
12 small Tootsie Rolls®

1 new kitty litter pan
1 new plastic kitty litter pan liner
1 new pooper scooper

Prepare cake mixes and bake according to directions (any size pans).

Prepare pudding mix and chill until ready to assemble.

Crumble white sandwich cookies in small batches in food processor, scraping often. Set aside all but about 1/4 cup. To the 1/4 cup cookie crumbs, add a few drops green food coloring and mix until completely colored.

When cakes are cooled to room temperature, crumble into a large bowl. Toss with half the remaining white cookie crumbs and the chilled pudding. Important: mix in just enough of the pudding to moisten it. You don't want it too soggy. Combine gently.

Line a new, clean kitty litter box. Put the cake/pudding/cookie mixture into the litter box.

Put three unwrapped Tootsie rolls in a microwave safe dish and heat until soft and pliable. Shape ends so they are no longer blunt, curving slightly. Repeat with 3 more Tootsie rolls bury them in the mixture. Sprinkle the other half of cookie crumbs over top. Scatter the green cookie crumbs lightly on top of everything -- this is supposed to look like the chlorophyll in kitty litter.

Heat 3 Tootsie Rolls in the microwave until almost melted. Scrape them on top of the cake; sprinkle with cookie crumbs. Spread remaining Tootsie Rolls over the top; take one and heat until pliable, hang it over the side of the kitty litter box, sprinkling it lightly with cookie crumbs. Place the box on a newspaper and sprinkle a few of the cookie crumbs around for a truly disgusting effect!

This one was discovered by accident.

I work from a company pickup so I eat on the run most days. My usual lunch is peanut butter on a whole wheat bagel.

One morning I accidentally grabbed onion bagels instead of the whole wheat. Never one to shy from a new flavor, I gave it a try and its actually suprisingly good.

BTW, Charlie40, thanks for the recipe... gonna try that at the next company potluck. :)

Today I mixed up some tater tots with taco seasoning and cheese and it was really good .

1 bag frozen tater tots fried and drained
1 Package taco seasoning
1 bag shredded taco cheese

After you fry the tater tots let them cool for a bit and then put them in a ziploc bag , pour in the taco seasoning . Shake the bag . Place mixture in a pan and cover with cheese . Bake in 350degree oven until cheese is bubbly . Serve with salsa .

I think they serve something similar at Taco Bell but i've never tried them .

This morning, I was introduced to something I would have never thought of eating. Scrambled eggs and sauerkraut (together).
A friend of mine has been broke for a few weeks, and last night, I stayed at his house, after bringing the drinks, we killed a case of beer, and a fifth of Seagram's 7. This morn, when his wife went off to work, we went into the kitchen, and that's what he came up with for brekkie. At first, I thought "NO Flippin WAY!!" but was soooooooo hungry, that I caved. It wasn't that bad..

Well, it's been 2 months since anyone added to this topic, so I thought I would. I have a few odd things to add to the list of oddness. The other day, I went to the restaurant across the street from me and asked for something they'd never heard of. I asked for a hamburger without anything else, but topped off with a hard-fried egg. Aside of them overcooking it, it wasn't bad at all.
Another thing I've been eating is along the lines of bologna and peanut butter. Nuke a hot dog, and while it's cooking, spread some pnut butter of some bread. It's really good with a glass of chocolate milk.
