Topic: INS/FBI Statistical Report on Undocumented Immigrants | |
---|---|
Karma, my understanding of the stats for National crime had a problem they were only classifying hispanics not illegals so they could not determine the amount of the hispanics that were illegal that were committing crimes. The websites are full of erroneous information that people are taking to heart as fact and it is not.

It just kills me to see where people say to prosecute to the fullest the ones who break the law. One would have to wonder how many of us would want our loved ones prosecuted to the full extent of the law? How many would stand up for a loved one that was found guilty of murder, but would ask for leniency.
When laws are broken; shouldn't they all be taken for law and made the same for all? Why is it that so many break laws and don't think twice about it. Hoping that the long arm of the law doesn't catch them? Everyday, all the time it happens. I would not have such a problem with all this legal mambo jumbo if we all stood tall as they are presented to us in everyday life. It puts me in mind of Jesus asking "he who is without sin, throw the first stone". And; "love thy neighbor, as thy self". Kat These two songs give me hope with their lyrics.=== Imagine there's no heaven, It's easy if you try, No hell below us, Above us only sky, Imagine all the people living for today... Imagine there's no countries, It isn't hard to do, Nothing to kill or die for, No religion too, Imagine all the people living life in peace... You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one. (Imagine all the people sharing all the world) Imagine no possessions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world... ========================================== You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope some day you'll join us, And the world will live as one. When I find myself in times of trouble Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. And in my hour of darkness She is standing right in front of me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. And when the broken hearted people Living in the world agree, There will be an answer, let it be. For though they may be parted there is Still a chance that they will see There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be. Yeah There will be an answer, let it be. And when the night is cloudy, There is still a light that shines on me, Shine on until tomorrow, let it be. I wake up to the sound of music Mother Mary comes to me Speaking words of wisdom, let it be. Let it be, let it be. There will be an answer, let it be. Let it be, let it be, Whisper words of wisdom, let it be. Kat |

Fanta, Again I ask that you look at the person funding / backing these groups. I cannot fully believe that they are unbiased when they are backed by Tanton. Here is another piece on Tanton.
Along with a few other FAIR board members, in the early 1980s Tanton founded a nationalist organization called WITAN-short for the Old English term "witenagemot," meaning "council of wise men." In 1986, Tanton signed a memo that went to WITAN members that highlighted the supremacist bent of Tanton and FAIR. (7)(8) The memo charged that Latin American immigrants brought a culture of political corruption with them to the United States and that they were unlikely to involve themselves in civil life. "He raised the alarm that they could become the majority group in U.S. society. What's more, he asked: "Can homo contraceptivus compete with homo progenitiva?" Answering his own rhetorical question, Tanton wrote that "perhaps this is the first instance in which those with their pants up are going to get caught by those with their pants down!" According to Tanton, "In California 2030, the non-Hispanic Whites and Asians will own the property, have the good jobs and education, speak one language and be mostly Protestant and 'other.' The Blacks and Hispanics will have the poor jobs, will lack education, own little property, speak another language and will be mainly Catholic." Furthermore, Tanton raised concerns about the "educability" of Hispanics. (10) In 1988 the media published the Tanton memo, causing a number of former supporters of U.S. English to cut ties with Tanton, including Walter Cronkite. (7)(8) "Tanton raised concerns about the "educability" of Hispanics." Are Hispanics then to be considered less intelligent than others simply because they are Hispanic? The man definitely comes across as a racist. I'm all for legal immigration as opposed to illegal immigration. What I don't like seeing is the rabid stance taken by a few that leads to violence against immigrants in general. This was the case in Germany a few years ago and lead to the death by arson of Turkish workers. |

Someone asked why they closed Ellis Island and curbed back immigration, (legal), in America like they did!
Well, I just happen to have that answer! Its not short, its not shake-n-bake, and will require a little reading on your part. I have read it, all of it, and it is a part of American history! Its called the dillingham report! When faced with the same problems as we see today, (only legal) the US Congress ordered a report on the effects of unrestrained immigration on the lifestyles of Americans; During the 2nd and 3rd sessions of the 61st Congress, reports on Immigration issues were issued to the Senate by the Dillingham Commission. The immigration reports include statistical reviews, emigration and immigration conditions in Europe and other parts of the world, occupations of immigrants (including extensive coverage of immigrants in the industries of the time), living conditions, conditions of immigrants in major metropolitan and agricultural areas, the schooling of immigrant children, social and cultural organizations and societies of immigrants, and immigration legislation at the state and federal levels. The 41 volumes of these reports were digitized and converted into PDF format under the supervision of Stanford University Libraries' Social Sciences Resource Center. http://library.stanford.edu/depts/dlp/ebrary/dillingham/body.shtml I think you will find many similarities to the issue we face today. Only it was legal immigration then!! |

Print: Toby Keith - Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American) Lyrics print version
American Girls and American Guys We'll always stand up and salute We'll always recognize When we see Old Glory Flying There's a lot of men dead So we can sleep in peace at night When we lay down our head My daddy served in the army Where he lost his right eye But he flew a flag out in our yard Until the day that he died He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me To grow up and live happy In the land of the free. Now this nation that I love Has fallen under attack A mighty sucker punch came flyin' in From somewhere in the back Soon as we could see clearly Through our big black eye Man, we lit up your world Like the 4th of July This works in our real backyard as well Kat! How are you? |

I must tell you that I worked with Toby Keith a few years back. Toby just lives about 10 miles from me. He is also a close neighbor of family. They speak when he is around. He has an 11,000 sq.ft. home there. A ranch actually. He used to live just a mile from me. We have a mutual friend. Freddie Cortez...He just died as a matter of fact. Toby paid for his funeral.
Toby wrote that song for our moral and the soldiers at war in that miserable place called Iraq and Afghanistan. Kat |

It was a very thorough study kat! It was actually commissioned by corporate leaders and unions bequest to study the costs and effects that unrestrained immigration was having on thins ranging from the cost to local governments for health-care and welfare to the lowering of wages, to crime, to the effects on lifestyles of Americans, etc. etc, Very thorough!! Makes one wonder why we cant get this kind of bang for the buck from our government now! |
