She's brave oh so very brave
Braver than most will even admit
Except when it comes to matters of the heart
She wants to run, hide,protect her self
As much as she desires to be loved
She is so afraid of losing herself
Afraid of getting hurt
Not even sure if its really worth it
So she runs and hides
Protecting herself
Pushing it away every time it comes near
Cowering, shaking with absolute fear
So she steps away, dancing on the fringe
Hiding always hiding
Wanting always wanting
But never finding
Living in the fear and never letting anyone near
She grows old now
Hair graying
Body aching
Mind slipping
And she forgets what it is she has desired for so long
Her mind just drifting along like some old forgotten song
A look of longing in her eyes but she can't tell you what it is
That she desires....

yes,,, yet in a brief moment in time she stops, listens
and learns of what it is that makes her soul sing
and within she learns Hope and from this she then learns
its okay to trust again,, live again,,,,,
