There are many reasons women, or atleast I, do this: 1) I dont want to talk about at that moment. I want to think about it for a while without outside imput. Yes I know I could just tell the guy this, but most of the men I have dated, when I say this, they take offense to it, like they are the only one I dont want to tell. 2) I actually do want to talk about it but I dont know how to. For me, it is hard to express myself, especially when I am upset. So I just say nothing so I dont have to explain it. And 3) it's something so obvious, that I feel I dont have to explain myself. They should just know.

I would hope that he would be able to tell just by the sound of NOTHING that something truly was wrong
