Ugh, I just flushed another good friendship with one of my straight guy friends down the toilet. I hate myself for being like this. I fall over and over for straight guys, I know that most of them are just being nice when they start to care for me. Starts all good, dinners, goofing off with other friends, getting closer, doing things together, fun times until I start to fall and get possessive and jealous when they are not with me. arghhhh, why am I wired like this? somebody kick me in the head.....

if your doing all that stuff with those "straight guys"... guess what... their not as straight as you think they are

This actually makes the most sense. After reading what you said here, he didn't specify who was doing the courting and if he knew in advance that these guys are straight. Perhaps it is a conquest, much like many straight men are attracted to lesbians.

and single people fall for married friends

whatever the situation, unavailable is unavailable and once it enters the equation, just move on from that dream of being more than friends and continue being open to others who may be available instead,,

Some people love what they can't have & seek the unattainable either for sport or self sabvatage. Or they interpret any attention as a relationship. All can be addiction behaviour.
