I'm pretty sure you don't want all my opinions on the subject, because you'll be reading all day.

People often like to cite Jesus saying, "Let he without sin cast the first stone," to excuse bad behavior, but they ignore the part where He told the woman, "Go forth and sin no more." That is probably because "sin" has become subjective... It could also be that sin has become subjective because we selectively apply religious teachings. |

Does no one see the irony of "marriage equality" being pushed by some of the same people who want all references to religion eliminated from society? In the United States, the fact that marriage is legally sanctioned violates the First Amendment by both giving legal preference to a religious ritual, and defining that ritual. Some religions allow multiple spouses, yet secular laws prohibit freely exercising that aspect of their religion. Why should the government sanction intimate relationships? And why should we have to pay to exercise a "right?"
