yes, and now that the numbers have grown,, the alternatives offered by the republicans are,,,,what?

the do nothing politicians critiquing and cutting down any idea that isn't theres, so busy doing so that they have no ideas

and time will tell whether doing NOTHING would have been the better choice

and in spite , Reagan is still hero to many

and Obama is just 'chitting' on 'the country,,,

Reagan didn't have a template, Obama does...He knows how much the voting numbers changed after the amnesty act in 1986 and he also knows granting amnesty to millions of illegals will further cripple the economy, but oh well, it will go far to put another liberal in office in 2016...And not agreeing with Obama does not mean "doing nothing" it mean doing something better....Yep, once again Obama chits on Americans....

Obama could have closed the border, imposed sanctions on companies hiring illegals (which probably just meant enforcing the law!), removed federal funds for the support of illegals (instead of pushing them to get food stamps!), and put the well being of US citizens over those of aliens but helping the Democrats took priority.

^^^This....Turning the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA into a socialist country will take longer than this administration has and the next one up to bat WILL play ball...In many ways, she is worse than Obama because she actually has a brain and she knows how to use it...There was a time when I championed her because I strongly believe women have the ability to lead ...Benghazi changed all that....

For the immediate future I believe Islamic terrorists if they get hold of a dirty bomb. I believe these terrorists must already have students in University studying chemicals and engineering and such like simply to harm us.
This could cause catastrophe and I hope I'm wrong.

However I believe the person who will destroy the world may not be born yet, but I fear for the future of our grand children and their grand children.

Know why reading this post made me feel like crying Joe?....Because there is truth in it....I agree with what you say about dirty bombs in the hands of the wrong people...Sometimes it feels like we are all painting ourselves into a corner that only has "one" way out....sad2

Putin isn't an enemy. Iran isn't an enemy. The United States military industrial complex is the enemy. The enemy is politicians and even religious groups baiting our young men into a false battle under the guise of terrorism, all to control the last drops of the worlds oil.

The enemy is despair, which is the lack of faith people have in themselves, others, and humanity in general.

War and finger-pointing is the failure to communicate, or the unwillingness to communicate.

Iraq was a beautiful country with a rich history and peaceful people with a high regard for women's rights and education, art, and the sciences, before the United States military destroyed it, and with it, and entire generation of people. There were no weapons of mass destruction, only evil bombs.

I'm not a liberal. At all. But, this country has always been home to those fleeing poverty and oppression. The plaque at the base of the Statue of Liberty reads, "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

When the blacks came, they were disrespected and humiliated. When the Italians came, they were hated. When the Irish came, they were hated. Every country evolves. In business, without new ideas and evolution, the company will become stagnant and it will fail. The people to the south of us have been here much, much longer than we have. Everyone is free, provided there is not a repression of freedom.

Bromance, its a beautiful thing- don't let anyone tell you different!

I think the far right-wing Republicans are our biggest threat. They seem ready to go to war over the smallest slight

This ^^ is all true, however it is only partial truth and freedom comes with a price....Those who are not willing (key word) to take responsibility for themselves forfeit their freedom...Why not be totally honest and say SOME blacks, Italians and Irish who came to the US were hated, disrespected and humiliated by SOME US citizens...SOME blacks, Italians and Irish were hated, disrespected and humiliated because they were hating, disrespecting and humiliating...It is always easy to point fingers, but for SOME reason(s) the influx of immigrants into the US continues to flow strong and steady...

again

what is the 'something better' the republicans are trying to do about immigration?

Im not in Obamas head, I don't know what he does or doesn't 'know'

I don't believe however he is doing anything that he doesn't BELIEVE is going to improve the situation

certainly nothing to intentionally harm, as he has children who live here in America too,,,,children he appears to care greatly about and LIKE (unlike some of our previous presidential heroes)

sanctions? like this?

"ICE will focus its resources within the worksite enforcement program on the criminal prosecution of employers who knowingly hire illegal workers in order to target the root cause of illegal immigration," Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano said in April 2009.

The change was dramatic: the number of I-9 audits soared from 503 in 2008 to more than 8,000 in 2009.

Under Obama, ICE announced sanctions against major employers. That included a $1 million fine gainst Abercrombie and Fitch that grew out of an I-9 inspection in November 2008 while Bush was president, and the termination of hundreds of workers at Chipotle restaurants.

In 2007, ICE arrested 92 employers, while in 2012 it arrested 240, according to ICE. Final orders -- rulings at the end of the case which show employers violated hiring rules -- also increased under Obama. In 2007, there were two final orders, while in 2012 there were 495.

http://www.politifact.com/florida/statements/2013/jul/03/debbie-wasserman-schultz/obama-holds-record-cracking-down-employers-who-hir/

much is being done to do SOMETHING about illegal immigration under OBAMA,, it may be a good idea to take time to research some of it instead of assuming the worst and preaching what he 'knows' or 'could do'....

whoa whoa

this is just as much a problem as the games politicians play

citizens who attack the 'intelligence' of others who don't support the politicians they support or choose to support those they do not

maybe I don't understand why people support a certain politician, but I don't immediately attack their intelligence or intentions because of it,,,

having different social perspectives and priorities does not automatically equate to being less intelligent or caring less about the place we live,,,
