The best and more mature thing to do like alot of you said,IS to ignore them,but being me,seriously? ,I hate to say this,but sometimes i can't wait for round two,ting ting ting ,But,I'm working on that,and sometimes when it's so obvious that the person is trying to get under my skin,I don't take the bait, ,I really hate sarcasm,but sometimes,it's the best defense in those cases,and I don't believe in doing those things to people,I see it as a form of bullying in a way as well!

I tend to laugh it off and fire back in good fun when appropriate. I was bullied a bit when I was young mostly by my older brothers whom helped me grow a thick skin to most bs people say. It's a mind over matter thing. I don't mind so what they say doesn't matter. I do like using this wit I inherited from my father though so I don't always take the high road cause I can't pass up a good one liner.

depending on the circumstances I think an "innocent" retort is understandable.

I tend to avoid that if there is any concern about escalating matters

For me it depends on where, how, who, when, why.
Mostly I shrug it off, even when it irritates me tremendously, sometimes I don't. And when I don't, I can either return the favour the same way or go for the jugular. Don't often do the latter, simply prefer to steer clear from negative energy as that will hurt myself just the same. But there are some occasions where I can't help myself. I do feel awkward about that afterwards though. Because I know that A) I can be real nasty and B) I'm 48 years old, not a child playing tit for tat and C) it just doesn't sit well with me cos I'm a gentle person

Also known as 'the ultras,' Me and my mates were fully paid up members, until quite recently, but with me becoming a father again last month, i'm not going to the football ( soccer ) games as much as i used to, as i'm pulling my weight in the house, with looking after my son and my wife! I will. i had a couple of soccer players in my household. One went to rugby in college and the other stayed with soccer and played in university. I think he still plays on an adult Recreation League of some sort. I will definitely check your site.

But,most times,the insultor(sic) is immature/insecure/pained/saddened/half azzed/threatened by you in some way,etc...... But,sometimes,its good to give them a taste of their stinky!! Am good with stinging comebacks....but sometimes,I take a step back and try to see what/why the insultor(sic)is gunning for me ...

Naaaaaah,no jab taken....i've been around here enough time to know the jabbers,the on the point,the teasers/sarcastic and the always funny,usually non serious....... And I steer clear of the jabbers too
